Chapter 120
Chapter 120
She had been soaked by cold water over and over, and had to lie on the ground in the wet. Every now and then, a breeze blew through, it made her! even colder in her damp clothes.
Her lips were purple from the cold as she shivered on her little folding stool, reading her script carefully.
Skylar glanced between Elianna and Edith with a hint of irritation.
Elianna noticed Skylar’s gaze and glared back, seeing the anger on her face, and that made her happy.
Skylar was furious, but couldn’t do anything to her. The resentment that had been building up in her chest began to fade.
She slacked off even more, tossing her script aside to play on her phone.
Skylar gave a cold laugh.
Elianna hadn’t studied the script or memorized her lines. Even now, she was deliberately dragging things out. It was clearly an act of provocation.
It seemed Elianna thought she was irreplaceable just because she landed the role of the fourth female lead.
Skylar walked up to her. “Ms. Stone, it’s just a few lines. You’ve been at it all morning and still can’t remember them? If you really can’t do it, just say s Don’t waste everyone’s time.”
Elianna snapped back, “I thought I did pretty well. It’s you and the director who keep rejecting my takes. What can I do about that?”
Skylar almost laughed out loud in anger, narrowing her eyes with a half–smile. “Ms. Stone, do you not understand what ‘acted well‘ means? Edith, com
here.”
Edith put down her script and walked over nervously, rubbing her hands. “Sapphire, you called me?”
Skylar said, “You’ll switch roles with her for now. Show her how to portray Kara as a character.”
Before Edith could say anything, Elianna shouted in protest, “I don’t agree! This is my role! Why should someone else perform it?”
Dripping with sarcasm, she added, “Besides, she hasn’t even read my part of the script. Can she even act it out? What if she holds up the shoot and everyone blames me again?”
Skylar ignored her and asked Edith, “Have you read that part of the script?”
Edith nodded. “I’ve memorized the lines too.”
To act well, the actors not only had to know their roles, but they also had to understand their scene partner’s lines.
Skylar nodded slightly. “That’s settled, then.”
She let the director know, and he readily agreed.
He couldn’t take it anymore either. He had really wanted to put Elianna in her place, but hadn’t dared to. Now that someone else was willing to do the thankless job, he was more than happy to cooperate.
Skylar looked at her coolly and said, “Ms. Stone, as a professional actress, you should be able to quickly adapt to any role. I’ll give you ten minutes to read the script and prepare.”
She added, “This scene is easy. All you have to do is lie still in the water. Surely that won’t be too hard for you.”
The words were deeply insulting.

Seething with fury, Elianna glared at Skylar. “Of course not.”
Skylar chuckled lightly. “Good to hear.”
