Chapter 117
Skylar lifted her arm and sniffed herself. There was only a faint scent of floral laundry detergent.
“I love you, Mommy!” Adam beamed, hugging his mom with a blissful smile.
Skylar held Adam in her arms. She smiled gently and stroked his fluffy little head.

As soon as the new head, Lexi Holder, took over, she began tackling the pile of neglected work. The project moved forward rapidly. The investments were secured, and everything was ready for filming.
As the screenwriter, Skylar needed to stay with the film crew throughout the shoot.
The company’s operations were still stable, so she didn’t need to monitor everything personally and could just check in occasionally.
She reminded Sophie to keep an eye on the company during this period and to call her if anything couldn’t be resolved.
Sophie agreed readily. “Ms. Lambert, don’t worry. I’ll make sure the company is in good hands.”
Skylar patted her shoulder. “I trust you. When this is over, I’ll give you a promotion and a raise.”
Sophie’s eyes lit up. “Thank you, Ms. Lambert!”
Skylar coordinated with Lexi to start filming two days later and had her arrange for the actors and other staff to be notifie
To avoid suspicion about their relationship, Skylar and Victor arrived separately at the filming location.
There was no filming scheduled for the first day. Everyone went out to eat and drink together to get familiar with each other.
Elianna didn’t join the gathering. She was still lying at home.
She had only landed a fourth female lead role this time.
She had no desire to see Skylar and didn’t want to play the role at all.
Mona kept trying to talk sense into her. “Elianna; now’s not the time to be impulsive. If you don’t show up, Sapphire will seize the opportunity.”
She added, “If she spreads rumors or uses this to get people to smear you, things will get ugly.”
Elianna snapped, “Let her smear me then. I’m not going.”
Mona was on the verge of a breakdown every day. She took several deep breaths before continuing to persuade her. “Elianna, are you willing to throw away everything you’ve worked so hard for in the entertainment industry?”
She continued, “If you skip this one and word gets around in the industry, who’s going to want to cast you in the future?”
But Elianna was furious and wouldn’t listen to reason. “I said I’m not going! Are you deaf?”
Mona was starting to get angry. She held back her temper and spoke sternly. “Elianna, this is a project our company invested in. If you don’t go, there’ll be a lot of gossip. If Mr. Campbell hears that, it will definitely damage the way he sees you.”
Elianna’s expression changed slightly. Mona saw a glimmer of hope and pressed harder. “Do you want Sapphire to outshine you? Are you willing to hand Mr. Campbell over to her?”
