Chapter 112
Skylar took the coffee he poured but didn’t drink it immediately. She brought it to her lips and sniffed it first.
It contained a few herbs, all harmless, even beneficial.
As if sensing her hesitation, Ward smiled. “Adding herbs to coffee is a trick I learned from an old herbalist. It’s good for you.”
Confirming there was no strange scent, she drank it.
A cunning glint appeared in Ward’s eyes. ‘Can’t put anything in the coffee itself, that’d make her suspicious. But that doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways.‘
He glance i

slight smirk playing on his lips.
After Skylar finished her three cups of coffee, Ward didn’t give
her

more
grief. He leaned close to Felix’s ear, whispering something
As Skylar ate, she suddenly felt a wave of heat wash over her. Her eyes
narrowed. ‘Someone drugged me!‘
‘Dammit, I was so careful, and still walked into it!‘ She looked up and met Ward’s scrutinizing gaze. ‘It was him. He’s waiting for the drug to kick in. I absolutely cannot let him know it’s working.‘
Ward was getting antsy. ‘It’s been a while, why isn’t anything happening?”
He
frowned, looking at the diffuser.
‘The herbs in the coffee are harmless on their own. But combined with this specific aromatherapy scent… that’s a different story. The two react together.
‘Plus, I had the server coat her fork with that odorless, colorless drug from the vial. She just ate, so she definitely ingested it.
‘With all that combined, it should have hit her by now. How is she acting like nothing’s wrong?‘
Digging her nails into her palm to stay grounded, Skylar appeared perfectly composed. “Excuse me, I need to use the restroom.”
She walked out of the private room with steady steps, then broke into a sprint once she was out of sight.
Ward was out the door a second after her. “Get her! Take her to Mr. Roberts’s room!” he yelled to someone unseen.
The drug was potent. After running a short distance, Skylar’s limbs felt like jelly, and her vision blurred.
Dragging her weakened body, she staggered forward and bumped into someone.
A familiar scent wafted from the person. Her taut nerves finally gave way, and another wave of the drug’s effects washed over her. This time, she blacked out completely.
Hudson reached out to pull away the woman who had suddenly stumbled into Yosef’s arms, but Yosef stopped him.
“Mr. Campbell, this… ” Hudson began, confused.
“I know her,” Yosef stated.
Hudson stepped back.
‘So that’s why Mr. Campbell suddenly wanted to drop by the ‘Moonlit Hunt‘ team’s meeting room. It must have been for this young lady, Hudson mused.
“Hey! You! Hand her over if you know what’s good for you!” Ward shouted, catching up from behind. He couldn’t see Yosef’s face and didn’t recognize
him.
Ward rolled up his sleeves and advanced, fist raised. “Didn’t you hear me, punk?”
