Chapter 105

It finally dawned on him, and his eyes blazed with fury.

He turned to Freya, who looked utterly terrified beside him. You dared to lie to me?Victor hissed.

Freya shook her head, stammering, No, Victor, I

Victor, acutely aware of the many eyes on them, reined in his anger. I don’t want to make a scene,he said, his voice cold. We’ll settle this when we get back.

He turned his face away, unable to bear looking at her for another second.

Freya couldn’t stop trembling. The identity she had tried so desperately to conceal had been exposed after all.

And the most hateful part? The person who exposed her was Skylar.

That bitch!Freya seethed internally. Skylar knew I was pretending to be Sapphire and deliberately kept quiet, setting me up, watching me make a fool of myself.

Then she exposed me like this, making Victor despise me. What a devious, calculating witch!

Her eyes shot daggers, and she wished she could march over and throttle Skylar.

Skylar, as if sensing Freya’s murderous gaze, looked up, her eyes meeting Freya’s. A cool smile touched Skylar’s lips.

To Freya, that smile was pure provocation. Her face instantly clouded over.

Skylar merely offered that brief smile before her attention returned to the auditions.

The casting director beside her asked if they could begin. Skylar nodded. Let them start.

They were auditioning for the male lead first. The scene involved the protagonist, Quentin Carr, receiving an emergency call and then using his deductive

skills to uncover the truth.

The backstory for this scene was that someone in an apartment building had reported the stench of rotting pork.

No one answered the door when they knocked, so they had to call/the police. Upon forcing entry, they discovered scattered bones on the floor.

Flesh still clung to the bones, and among the crevices of the meat, tiny white things wriggled, emitting a foul odor.

Everyone present who witnessed the scene couldn’t help but vomit.

The police, fighting back nausea, collected all the bones and sent them to the medical examiner. The results confirmed they were human bones.

Furthermore, the bones didn’t belong to a single corpse, and no corresponding flesh was found in the room.

The police classified the case as a serial homicide. The male lead, a profiler, was assisting the police investigation.

He used clues from the room to gather information about the killer, eventually identifying and apprehending them.

The difficulty in this scene lay in the fact that the male lead had autism. Portraying an autistic individual conducting an investigation convincingly was no easy feat.

The actors who had auditioned so far either played the character as a vacant idiot or maintained a single, stonefaced expression throughout.

Their interpretations were far from what Skylar envisioned. She gently massaged her temples. Next.
