Chapter 103
Chapter 103
Victor loved the novel and was definitely going to audition for the male lead.
Elianna wanted to use the film to boost her career. No matter how ugly things had gotten before, she wouldn’t give up easily.
Skylar reviewed the list, cut a few unsuitable candidates, and sent the final list to Julia.
As soon as Julia received the list, Elianna came over. “Well?” she asked.
Julia was in a tight spot.
Normally, project information like this was confidential, but Elianna was the fiancée of the Campbell Group’s CEO.
‘If I don’t tell her,‘ Julia thought, ‘I’ll offend her, and it’ll be tough for me to keep my job at the Campbell Group.
After a moment’s thought, Julia decided to print out the list and give it to Elianna to save her own skin.
Elianna scanned it. Seeing she hadn’t been deliberately targeted by Skylar, she nodded, handed the list back. “At least she knows her place,” Ekanna remarked with a smirk.
She then strutted off, chin held high, looking smug.
Three days flew by.
Skylar got ready early, planning to head out after breakfast, and ran into Freya and Victor, who were also on their way out.
Victor had been recovering at home, with all sorts of tonics and remedies, and his health was improving rapidly.
Seeing Skylar was also leaving, he asked curiously, “Skylar, where are you off to?”
Skylar wasn’t ready to expose Freya yet, so she kept her destination vague. “Just out for a bit,” she replied.
“Be careful out there. Call if you need anything,” Victor said.
Skylar nodded. “Okay.”
“Freya, let’s go,” Victor prompted.
Freya, lost in thought, just mumbled an “oh” when he called her.
Once in the car, Freya’s heart pounded. She was terrified of running into Sapphire there; her cover would be blown.
‘What should I do?‘ she wondered.
Then again, Freya mused, ‘Sapphire is just the screenwriter, not the casting director. She probably won’t be there overseeing the auditions, right?”
Freya was in a bind. Might as well roll the dice.
If she did run into Sapphire, she could just threaten her, force Sapphire to stay behind the scenes forever. Then Freya could always be Sapphire in the public eye.
‘And I’d have nothing to worry about anymore. Once Freya had this figured out, her mood lifted considerably.
Victor didn’t notice her change in mood; he was engrossed in reading “Moonlit Hunt.”
Chapter 103
Even though he’d read it a hundred times, he still worried he wouldn’t hail the character, still feared failing the audition,
They arrived at the venue. The auditions hadn’t started yet, so they had to wait outside for a bit.
Freya made an excuse and slipped away, wandering around to see if Sapphire was there.
After searching for a while and asking around, she still hadn’t seen Sapphire, and no one else had either.
