Talmud hesitated for a moment, then, under Robin's cold gaze, reluctantly revealed the long-kept secret of the Dark Syndicate.
"Back then, the Dark Syndicate defeated the Lightborn Sect.
"Lord Lightborn traveled through the space time tunnel in the Dark Woods and disappeared into the Earthend, leaving no trace behind.
"The legendary dragon-slaying dagger of Netheris, and the Larvikite Dragon vanished as well.
"Fifty years ago, the High Pontiff dispatched the Four Warlords and Eighteen Golden Armor Knights into Earthend to search for Lord Lightborn.
"They searched for 30 years but came up empty-handed.
"At one point, the High Pontiff believed Lord Lightborn was no longer in Earthend.
"But 20 years ago, rumors of the dragon-slaying dagger resurfaced.
"It was said the dagger was hidden in the Dragon Manor's estate in the Draconia.
"Caym was sent into the Earthend to find both the dagger and Lord Lightborn.
"While in Mistveil Mountain, Caym encountered the Golden Dragon Guard of the Young Lord Dragon.
"Using Netheris' sleeping spell, he tricked a hundred guards into the space-time tunnel and slaughtered them.
"The Young Lord Dragon was tipped off by a mysterious figure. He discovered that the massacre was orchestrated by the Crownward Syndicate of Netheris.
"Guided by that figure, he crossed the Dragon Ridge Valley, passed through the Dark Woods, and entered the territory of Netheris.
"Seeking revenge, the Young Lord Dragon chased them all the way to Soulforge Mountain, where he fought a fierce, unresolved battle with Koslia.
"Caym then appeared and deceived him, claiming the hundred Golden Dragon Guard were still alive.
"Following Caym's lead, the Young Lord went to Duskwell Keep.
"As for what happened after that, I don't know.
"This matter is a top-level secret, forbidden to be spoken of under the High Pontiff's direct orders.
"Whether the Young Lord Dragon is alive, dead, or held somewhere, I have no knowledge.
"Later, when Caym discovered that the dragon-slaying dagger had fallen into your hands, he moved to seize your wife's soul. "
After hearing Talmud's confession, Robin finally understood that everything had been orchestrated by Caym and the High Pontiff.
The massacre of the Dragon Manor 20 years ago, the disappearance of the Young Lord Dragon, and the loss of the hundred Golden Dragon Guard had all been Caym's doing.
At Duskwell Keep, capital of the Netheris, and also the heart of the Dark Syndicate.
Aside from Talmud of the Ninth Syndicate, the other eight pontiffs were all gathered here.
Ryvor, with his bearded face trembling with rage, shouted, "My lord, Robin has gone too far!"
"He killed my son, Jaxon! I request immediate permission to go to Soulforge Mountain and kill him!"
Roy, Pontiff of the Second Syndicate, snorted coldly. "My lord, when has the Dark Syndicate ever suffered such humiliation? Robin has not only slain the young elites and the Thirteen Guardians of our syndicate, but even the Netheris Child fell by his hand."
"If this man is not eliminated, the authority of our Dark Syndicate will be gravely threatened."
Roger Pace, Pontiff of the Eighth Syndicate, nodded in agreement. "My lord, Roy is right. We must deploy our most elite forces to eradicate this man. Otherwise, the consequences will be dire!"
Kage glanced around at the indignant faces in the cathedral, his own expression unreadable. "Gentlemen, do you still remember the Young Lord Dragon from the Earthend 20 years ago?"
Everyone fell silent.
"In that battle, Dark Syndicate lost 197 military gods and 13 Warlords. We were nearly wiped out."
