The Deadly Assassin Robin novel Chapter 1375

Hacyon had never felt such fury and helplessness in her life.

Before today, whenever she'd heard of "temporary members" being blamed for injustices, she'd naively believed it.

Now, she finally understood—it was just a shameless excuse used by those in power.

In the Netheris Domain, where authority was worshipped like a god, shamelessness was always the despicable people's free pass.

And deceit was the scoundrel's weapon of choice.

Liorik, the Chief Guardian of the Third Syndicate, rose to his feet. "Hacyon, are you questioning the sacred laws of the Syndicate?"

Hacyon's mouth snapped shut.

If branded with such defiance, her entire family would face execution.

"Your brother Arthur spouted treasonous filth at the Crownward Syndicate's tournament. He should have been sent to the Soulforge Tower for 're-education' long ago!

"Jaxon putting him down was justified!

"Every life in the Netheris belongs to the High Pontiff. Without His grace, none of us would enjoy today's glory!

"Your brother's poisonous words were a sin of the soul—a danger to all!"

Tears of frustration burned in Hacyon's eyes.

For the first time, she saw the Chief Guardians, those she once revered, for what they truly were—pathetic liars hiding behind hollow authority.

"Master Carrington, the Syndicate's laws preach freedom of speech. My brother is 12! He only said those words to motivate himself! How is that a 'sin of the soul'?

"Or is your so-called freedom of speech just another lie?"

"Insolence!" Valdor shouted angrily, and the entire arena fell silent.

"The Syndicate's 'freedom' is for praising Netheris—not for selfish ambitions!

"Every citizen must prioritize the Syndicate's will above their own. Individual thought is forbidden!"

Emory, the Ninth Syndicate's Chief Guardian, sneered. "Hacyon, what are you doing? Are you trying to challenge the authority of the Crownward Syndicate?

"Step back immediately, or I'll deal with you right now!"

"Hey, look—It's Arthur!" Suddenly, gasps erupted across the arena.

Hacyon whirled around and saw Robin holding Arthur's bloodied body, and she froze in shock.

He'd actually brought him back from the valley!

At this moment, she ignored the Chief Guardians' threats and sprinted forward.

Seeing her brother barely clinging to life, she slammed her fists against Robin's chest in rage.

"I'll kill you! This is all your fault!"

Robin stood motionless, letting her vent.

After a flurry of blows, Hacyon staggered back, stunned.

Her strikes—imbued with the power of a First-rank Master—hadn't even fazed him.

"Keep wasting time, and Arthur will die," Robin said flatly, placing the boy in her arms.

"Lay him down. I'll heal him!"

Instinctively, Hacyon carried Arthur to a pine tree at the arena's edge.

Robin sealed Arthur's meridians, then produced a Bloodshade Fruit—

Its surface gleamed like liquid rubies under the sun.

"Bloodshade Fruit!"

All of the Thirteen Guardians shot to their feet.

"Where did you get that? Hand it over!"

Robin smirked. "I took it from the Dark Woods. Why should I give it to you?"

Valdor's eyes gleamed. "All cultivators of the Dark Syndicate—no matter where they obtained the Bloodshade Fruit—are required to hand it over. That is the law of the Crownward Syndicate!
