The conference hall of Watertown's Temporary Highest Command Center was dead silent.
The people seated there were the powerful leaders of Autreynia, the most influential individuals in the world.
A single word or decision from them could reshape the world and even alter the fate of entire regions.
Yet, the moment Robin entered, not a single one of those arrogant politicians dared to assert their dominance.
The brutal death of Lucentia had a deep impact on everyone in the room, shaking their senses.
Even the most ruthless among them, who had shown no empathy before, felt fear for the first time.
The group that had disregarded moral principles and life's value now sensed the coldness of death.
Live footage from the light-speed warship broadcasted the scene to the entire world. Despite Autreynia's technical experts doing everything they could to block it, they couldn't prevent the images from being transmitted.
The leaders in Autreynia were rattled.
A four-star military strategist finally gathered the courage to stand up and point at Robin, angrily declaring, "Your violent actions have broken the world's rules! The people will condemn you for this!"
The tension in Watertown's command center grew thick. Robin slowly turned his gaze toward the four-star general.
"World rules? And now, you want to talk about rules? Are you out of your mind? You all have the power to make rules, but you know better than anyone that those rules are meaningless in the face of true power! Come on, tell me about these rules!"
With a sharp sound, the four-star expert collapsed, unconscious.
The room fell into an unbearable silence.
"Mr. Drakebane, please calm down!" Riyal finally spoke up. However, as someone used to power, this high-ranking Autreynia official still carried himself with arrogance.
"I believe there's been a misunderstanding between us!" he continued. "Please, show the generosity of a strong individual and help us follow the proper rules of this world.
"We can talk this over. Escalating this conflict would only be a poor choice for everyone involved!"
"You think this is a misunderstanding? Fine, let the misunderstanding continue!" Robin sneered and casually pressed a button, opening the rear compartment of the light-speed warship.
A silver light shot out, instantly killing the commander of the Third Fleet Marine Corps, Daxon. A second shot followed, killing Perrin, the Third Fleet's chief of operations.
"Stop!" Riyal slammed his fist on the table, shaking with anger. "You ... you ... "
Robin coldly pointed at him. "Stand up and speak! You're rude! You have no right to talk nonsense in front of me!"
Riyal reflexively stood, his eyes locked on the cold silver light aimed at his forehead.
"I apologize for my earlier arrogance, Mr. Drakebane!" he said.
