The blood-red eyes of the white dragon glowed with an intense murderous intent.

If not for its tail being trapped under the debris, Tiago would have been torn to shreds on the spot.

Frozen in terror, Tiago and Jessiah did not dare to move, the white dragon's formidable presence stifling the air around them.

After a tense ten minutes, the two gathered their courage and crept closer to each other.

"We need to figure out a way to take down the white dragon now while we have the chance," Tiago whispered, eyeing the dragon's slowly mending tail.

"The essence stone is healing it. Once it's fully healed, along with the Divine Drakebane, do we stand a chance to leave here alive?" he added.

Jessiah nodded in agreement, pondering their grim options. "But how do we even get close enough to harm it?"

"Hey, you two." Just then, a figure shrouded in black, followed by four guards, emerged from deeper within the cave.

Jessiah squinted through the dim light, recognizing the newcomer. "Baird? You've been hiding out here for 20 years?"

Baird chuckled.

"Yes, I've been secluded near the dragon's lair, waiting for just this moment.

"Fifty years ago, in the lower region of the Snow Dragon Pool, the Dragon Slayer stumbled upon a major chance, discovering a fragment of the cosmic essence stone.

"Already wounded, the little white dragon faced a brutal fight against Four Warlords who arrived in search of the treasure, resulting in severe injuries.

"Dragon Slayer left the stone to the little white dragon, promising to return after 30 years to claim it, receiving a Golden Dragon pendant in exchange.

"Therefore, I devised a grand deception, leading calamity to the Draconia, annihilating the Dragon Manor, and avoiding the eyes of the world, I came alone to the Snow Valley.

"But the white dragon, empowered by the essence stone, proved too formidable to defeat.

"I later discovered from ancient texts that there is a dagger from another world located under the Peachgrove in Dragon Ridge Valley, Harmonfield, in Draconia.

"This short dagger is a legendary dragon-slaying weapon, capable of killing a true dragon," Baird revealed.

"But even after searching for two decades, I never found it. It wasn't until last year that I discovered it was actually possessed by Divine Drakebane."

Tiago and Jessiah realized then that the labyrinth they had been navigating for 20 years was Baird's creation, all to secure the cosmic essence stone.

Baird gave a self-deprecating laugh. "What I didn't anticipate was that the dragon-slaying dagger had been hidden by Dragon Slayer's personal follower for all these years."

Tiago and Jessiah asked in unison, "Baird, was the disappearance of the Dragon Lord and Young Lord Dragon 20 years ago your doing? Are they still alive?"

Baird shrugged. "I'm not sure. It's been a mystery for two decades. They were unbeatable in their time, and how or even if they died is unknown. If they were alive, why then has there been no word of them in 20 years?

"For the last two decades, their whereabouts haven't concerned me. My only interest has been in the stone within the white dragon's mouth."
