The Deadly Assassin Robin novel Chapter 1151

At 8 AM, a fine drizzle fell from the sky over Sogas.

Robin and the others drove up to the Nine Stars Tower.

As they were getting out of the car, they spotted Shania in the distance, maneuvering her electric wheelchair slowly toward the building.

In the gloomy rain, Shania wasn't carrying an umbrella.

Her wheelchair reached the base of the building, blocked by the stairs at the entrance.

Shania attempted to use the disabled access ramp at the front of the building.

Ciaran Dunne, the head of the security team responsible for the lobby, immediately placed a No Entry sign in front of her.

"Mr. Dunne, what's going on?" Shania asked, confused.

Ciaran pointed at the steps. "Ms. Coyle—no, I guess I can't call you that anymore. Shania, you can't use this ramp. Go around to the other side!"

Shania glanced at the ground beneath the ramp. "Mr. Dunne, is the ground damaged?"

"The ground isn't damaged. We just won't let you pass. What's the problem?" Ciaran and a few security guards chuckled.

Shania was stunned.

Just six months ago, Ciaran had knelt before her, tearfully begging for an advance on his salary to help pay for his mother's medical bills.

Shania had refused the salary advance but had covered all of his mother's hospital expenses instead.

At the time, Ciaran had been overwhelmed with gratitude, swearing that he would repay her for the rest of his life.

And now, just a few months later, it had come to this?

Seeing Ciaran's smug expression, Shania felt no anger at all.

A young security guard hesitated for a moment before speaking up. "Mr. Dunne, this isn't right. The ramp is specifically for people with mobility issues. We're being too harsh.

"Besides, Ms. Coyle was our boss," the young man added.

"Osgar Yorke, shut up!" Ciaran snapped. "If you keep interfering, I'll report you and have you fired immediately!"

Shania recognized the young man. He was an intern.

"Osgar, just do your job. I'll use the other entrance," she said with a bitter smile, turning her wheelchair toward the car entrance.

Suddenly, a car sped toward them, taking up the entrance and slamming to a stop just in front of her.

The window rolled down to reveal a heavily made-up face that had undergone plastic surgery.

"Mr. Dunne, how do you manage the entrance? You've got a disabled person blocking the way. Aren't you worried about scratching my car?"

Ciaran recognized the speaker as Brighde Orlov, the head of human resources. He quickly bowed and approached her. "Ms. Orlov, I'm so sorry. I'll have her moved immediately!"

"Ah, it's Ms. Coyle. What happened? Why are you in a wheelchair?" Brighde called out loudly to Shania, drawing the attention of everyone in the area.

Shania froze.

She didn't want to deal with anyone right now. Without a word, she turned her wheelchair away from the car entrance, lowering her head.

The rain grew heavier, soaking Shania through.

She sat in her wheelchair, staring at the luxurious Nine Stars Tower in front of her, swallowing her tears.

Is this what it's like to fall to the lowest rung of society?

Just yesterday, everyone had groveled at her feet, eager to please.

But now, with one fall from grace, they were turning against her at every step.

Growing up as the heiress to the Coyles fortune, Shania had always been surrounded by compliments and warmth.

She had believed the world was full of warmth and love.

Everyone was so friendly.

It hadn't been like the ugly world described by the bitter authors of web novels.

Especially that one called Firebird—his world was truly unbearable.
