The Billionaire’s Secret Obsession (Grace and Owen) novel Chapter 9

Chapter 9

Late at night.

With half-closed eyes, Owen, dressed in expensive clothing exuding a sense of fashion, walked into the house alone.

Hannah accidentally fell and dislocated her bone, requiring another hospital stay. She didn’t like the smell of the disinfectant in the hospital, so she went back home.

The villa was empty, and Grace was nowhere to be seen.

Owen frowned and was about to go back to his room when his phone beeped, reminding him that it was Grace’s ovulation period.

He couldn’t muster up any interest, so he went back to the room first.

As soon as I entered the room, I saw the agreement on the bed.

Owen paused for a moment, took a big step forward, and saw the large words of the divorce agreement in front of him, making his expression even more cold.

He came to Grace’s bedroom holding the agreement.

The door clicked, Owen’s voice was cold: “Grace, did you enter my room?”

There was no sound inside.

Owen frowned and pushed open the door, a creaking sound filled the warm bedroom, which was empty.

It’s so late and you haven’t come back yet?

The prenuptial agreement stipulated that, no matter how late they were busy, both the man and the woman were not allowed to stay overnight outside, in order to avoid suspicion of marital problems from the outside world and thus affect the development of the company.

Owen furrowed his brow and dialed Grace’s number with a cold expression on his face. “The number you have dialed is currently switched off…”

The distorted sound coming from the phone echoed in the air, Owen clenched his jaw, his eyes gradually darkening.

After a long while, he thought of something, opened the agreement in his hand, and his eyes fell on the signature at the bottom, causing his pupils to suddenly contract.

“Grace”.

These words seemed to have burned him, and he averted his gaze, his fingertips resting on Pamela’s phone without dialing for a long time.

It’s too late, we’ll contact you tomorrow.

With this thought in mind, Owen left with a calm expression, but there was a hint of urgency in his steps, lacking the previous composure and tranquility.

The cold breath of the tide spread indoors.

Outside, thunder roared, and a bolt of lightning struck down. Owen suddenly opened his eyes and whispered, “Grace…”

In front of him was pitch black. He looked around and realized it was just a dream.

That dream was a wedding.

The beach, blue sky, sea water, and fresh flowers, the salty sea breeze blowing through the white gauze, looking up, is the happy face of

Grace.

He stood still.

I watched helplessly as she stood beside another man in front of the priest.

The priest asked, “Do you want to marry the man next to you?”

Owen’s heart tightened.

He wanted to step forward and say no, but his feet felt as heavy as a thousand pounds, unable to move forward. His lips seemed to be glued together, making it impossible to speak.

“I was willing.”

Grace smiled and accepted, finally kissing another man amidst the cheers of the crowd.

The scene was extremely dazzling.

A suppressed suffocation surged in his chest as he stood in the wind, meeting Grace’s indifferent gaze.

She said, “Wish me happiness.”

The electronic clock struck five, with a faint mist on the horizon. Owen opened the window, feeling a cool breeze wrapping around him.

My mind cleared up slightly.

That dream was too real, and even now I still feel a bit dazed. The palpitations of knowing Grace’s death are also gradually subsiding.

I don’t know how long I had been standing.

The rain gradually weakened, and the horizon began to lighten up little by little.

The phone suddenly rang, Owen’s face stiffened, it turned out to be Pamela’s call.

After connecting, Pamela’s voice, suppressing her anger, came through: “Owen, is Grace next to you? I can’t reach her on the phone.”

Owen frowned, “No, she wasn’t here when I came back.”

A sudden sense of unease rose from his chest. Before he could think further, the words coming from the other end of the phone caused his breath to catch.

“Grace is getting more and more out of line. She actually wrote me a resignation letter, saying she wants to leave here…”

Boom!

The thunder roared, followed closely by lightning, the light cutting through the sky and landing in Owen’s cold eyes.
