Chapter 385
Even after coming back from the office, Andrew was still holed up in his study, busy with work. His brows had been tightly knit ever since he stepped into the study, so nobody wanted to risk upsetting him right now.
Lydia was the only exception in this family, and she knew it well. So while everyone else kept their distance, she simply walked in with a glass of milk in her hand.
Sensing someone there, Andrew snarled without even looking up, “Get out.”
Lydia’s smile froze on her face. She stood at the doorway, staring at Andrew, her eyes instantly turning red.
Only then did Andrew look up and see Lydia. Though his anger hadn’t completely faded, his tone softened as he asked, “Lydia, why didn’t you knock before coming in?”
Lydia pouted, looking aggrieved. She said, “I noticed you haven’t been sleeping well lately, so I just wanted to bring you some milk. I didn’t think I’d upset you.”
After all, Lydia was the sister Andrew cared about the most. He let out a heavy sigh, forcing down his frustration. He said softly, “I’m not mad at you.” For a moment, he didn’t know what else to say.
After a brief silence, he snapped the file shut and said, “Bring the milk here.”
Lydia immediately broke into a smile through her tears, happily handing him the milk and watching as he drank it down.
Andrew finished the milk in a hurry, like he was just ticking off another chore. When he was done, he handed the glass back to Lydia, making it pretty clear he wanted her to leave.
But Lydia acted like she didn’t get the hint. She just stood there holding the glass, looking like she had something to say but couldn’t quite get the words out.
Andrew frowned and asked, “Is there something you want to say?”
Lydia hesitated for a moment before finally saying, “I know you’ve been worried about getting dragged into the Sinclair family’s mess lately, so I went to the hospital to see Sean, hoping I could help ease your worries.
