“Dad, what if his dad and mom abandoned him on purpose?” Adam blurted out anxiously after thinking for a while. “What if he can’t find them? Or if something happened to them, and he…”
Yosef gave Adam a reassuring pat on the back and said gently, “Stop overthinking.”
Adam clung to Yosef Campbell’s shoulder like a little koala, not moving an inch. “Okay,” he mumbled sulkily.
Just as Skylar and the others arrived at the police station, they ran into the child’s parents, who were there to report him missing,
Seeing the child Skylar and the others had brought matched the description given by the couple opposite, the police officer immediately waved them over to identify their missing child.
The boy’s parents rushed over, clearly frantic. The woman’s eyes lit up the moment she saw her child. She took him from Skylar’s arms and hugged him tightly, tears streaming down her face. “My baby! I was so scared,” she cried.
“I merely bought something, and you were gone when I turned around. I searched everywhere but couldn’t find you. I thought you’d gone missing,” she said.
The little one, drooling, was babbling, “Mommy!” The woman’s face glowed with motherly love when she answered each of his callings with tender affection.
Seeing his child was safe, the man bowed deeply to Skylar and Yosef. “Thank you. If you ever need anything, I, Shaun Dooley, will do everything in my capacity to help you,” he said.
Skylar felt the name sounded familiar. Yosef whispered in her ear, “Shaun is the top director in the film industry.” Only then did Skylar realize why the
name sounded familiar.
Before filming “Moonlit Hunt” began, Skylar preferred not to use the production team that Campbell Group provided and sought other alternatives. She
contacted several top–tier directors, including Shaun.
However, after starting a family, Shaun devoted himself to caring for his wife at home and rarely accepted new jobs. He thus politely declined Skylar’s
invitation.
Deeming it unworthy, the other directors all turned down “Moonlit Hunt” outright. Skylar never would have imagined running into Shaun here. ‘What an incredible coincidence,‘ she thought.
“Mr. Dooley, do you still remember the ‘Moonlit Hunt‘ screenplay?” Skylar asked.
Shaun was quite interested in the screenplay, but at the time, his wife fell ill, and their child also needed care. Therefore, he had no choice but to turn down the screenplay.
Shaun looked at her in surprise and asked, “Are you Sapphire?”
Skylar nodded with a smile and replied, “That’s right.”
Shaun said, chuckling, “What a coincidence!”
“Yeah, I’m just as surprised. Who would think we’d/meet under such circumstances?” Skylar said.
“Sapphire, I can’t thank you enough for this. If opportunity ever arises, I’ll be happy to direct a film for you, free of charge.”
Skylar was overjoyed. The Stone Group was nearing completion of its restructuring, and she intended to implement a dual–track strategy that involved producing films and TV series while also training artists.
This way, they would not be at the mercy of others and could also shield their talents from the dark side of the entertainment industry.
