Goodbye, Mr. Ex: I've Remarried Mr. Right novel Chapter 1948

By dawn, the groom’s wedding motorcade rolled up outside.

Randy, dressed in a sharp white suit, strode into the house.

He was slightly out of breath, and his hair was a bit messy. But it didn't affect his brilliance.

"Erica, I'm here for you." He beamed, dropping to one knee, ready to hand her a bouquet.

Debra cleared her throat. "Forgetting something?"

"What?" Randy blinked, confused.

He'd gone over the pickup routine with Marion. Nothing else came to mind.

"The bridesmaid gifts," Liza said, arriving late.

Her flight had been delayed. Otherwise, she would have joined in the preparation.

Theda entered right after her. "No one's blocking the door, but you gotta step up. The bridesmaids need gifts."

"Gifts." Randy faltered.

He'd been too caught up fixing the venue mess to remember the gifts.

Desperate, he shot a pleading look at Marion.

Cool as ever, Marion pulled several bank cards from his pocket and handed them to Debra, Theda, and Liza.

Randy sighed in relief but soon realized a problem. He leaned in, whispering, "Where'd you get that money?"

"Who said it's mine?" Marion shrugged.

"Wait. You're getting a salary from Debra now?"

"Nah. I grabbed them from your wallet."
