Arwen’s brows furrowed slightly, and she turned her gaze to look at Selene.
Selene, on the other hand, felt on the edge. All she wanted was to make Arwen feel worse inside, the same as she was feeling. "I don’t know whether you have noticed it before or not, Arwen, but your name shares quite a semblance with mine. Selene — Moon. Moon — Selene. They are not different as long as you search for their meanings."
"..." Arwen paused at that. She didn’t speak, and seeing her silent, Selene finally felt a sense of relief.
Her lips curled in a smirk as she looked at Arwen and said, "I accept you are not vicious. I chose the wrong word. But I believe you are not that dumb to not see the obvious."
"You might be his wife today, but remember, Arwen ... you are nothing but my substitute. You might deny it to accept, but that won’t change the truth. The reality doesn’t change on anyone’s refusal."
And with that, she gave one last look and then stormed away. Carla followed after her.
Mr. Jones, who had just stepped out, heard it, and his expression twisted with worry. He quickly walked and approached Arwen. "Madam, what she said isn’t true. You name ... your name ..."
Arwen turned to look at him.
And just when he thought he would see the expression of distrust and betrayal on her face, her lips slowly curled upwards to present him the same kind face she had always carried —one full of trust and confidence.
"What’s wrong, Mr. Jones?"
"She —"
"What she said wasn’t false," Arwen accepted it, and that’s exactly what Mr. Jones feared. He didn’t know what he should say to solve the misunderstanding that had been deliberately created.
"Madam, —"
"Mr. Jones," she intervened rather softly as if reassuring him of something. "Someone’s denial to accept the reality cannot change the reality. It can’t change who they are, and it definitely can’t change who they actually are. So, it’s okay. I don’t mind."
Mr. Jones paused for a second. His brows tugged not just in a complicated expression, but in deep confusion. In that moment, he couldn’t understand what the lady meant.
Not because she spoke in too complicated terms, but because it felt that her words carried something very subtle —a hint that was hard to understand.
However, before he could ask anything, she gave him her casual smile and wished kindly, "Good night, Mr. Jones". And then, turning, she left.
Mr. Jones watched her leave. His mind, still thinking back about her words.

Meanwhile, Arwen climbed up the stairs and went to the room. Her mood was at ease, as if she hadn’t had the conversation she actually had with Selene.
Her eyes were so clear that it was hard to tell what she was thinking inside. But one thing was sure: there was definitely something going on in her plans.
But what the plan was all about —it was again hard to say.
Just as she entered the room and took a few steps inside, a voice made her pause in her steps.
