The SUV’s engine roared as Marcus Stone pressed the accelerator to the floor, my pregnant wolf whimpering with each violent turn. Through the cloth gag, I could barely breathe as the vehicle careened down the mountain highway at dangerous speeds.

Marcus’s radio crackled with urgent voices, the sound cutting through my terror like claws. “Alpha Stone, we’ve got Shadow Pack forces closing in fest. Multiple vehicles, looks like the Alpha King’s son himself is leading the pursuit.”

My heart soared with desperate hope. Dominic was coming for me. Through our mate bond, I could feel his fury burning like wildfire, his protective instincts in full overdrive.

“How far to the extraction point?” Marcus barked into the radio, his knuckles white as he gripped the steering wheel.

“Five minutes at current speed,” came the reply. “But you need to move faster. They’re gaining ground.”

Alexander turned to look through the rear window, his amber eyes wild with desperate determination. “Push it harder, Marcus. We can’t let them catch us.”

My pregnant wolf howled silently in distress. They were ordering their people to fight Dominic’s wolves. People could die because of me.

“No,” I tried to say through the gag, but only muffled sounds escaped.

Alexander noticed my distress and leaned closer, his face unnaturally calm despite the chaos around us. “Don’t worry, Aria. Soon this will all be over.”

Suddenly, gunshots erupted behind us. The sharp cracks echoed through the mountains, each one making my heart race with terror. Through the back window, I could see muzzle flashes in the distance.

“They’re shooting at our backup vehicles,” Marcus reported tersely. “We’ve lost two cars already.”

My bound hands pressed against my belly protectively. The pup was moving restlessly inside me, sensing my distress through our bond. Sharp pain shot through my abdomen as the car swerved violently to avoid something in the road.

“Careful!” Alexander snapped. “You’re endangering the pup!”

“I’m doing my best, Alpha,” Marcus/replied through gritted teeth. “But they’re closing the gap fast.”

Through our mate bond, I could feel Dominic’s presence growing stronger. He was getting closer. My wolf reached out desperately, trying to send him comfort while drawing strength from his unwavering determination.

The radio crackled again. “Alpha Stone, helicopter is in position. ETA two minutes to landing zone.”

I watched Aria’s tears streaming down her face and felt a twisted satisfaction at her obvious distress. This was exactly what I had wanted – to see her completely dependent on me again, just like the old days.

Reaching out, I wiped away her tears with my thumb, my touch gentle despite the circumstances. “There’s something I need to tell you, Aria. Something that will change everything.”

Her amber eyes widened with fear above the gag, and I could smell her terror mixing with the scent of our unborn pup. Perfect. She was finally taking me seriously.

“There’s an experimental drug from the Northern European werewolf research facilities,” I said softly, my voice carrying the dangerous edge I had perfected over years of Alpha training. “One that’s capable of severing the neural pathways between human consciousness and wolf memory.”

Her whole body went rigid with horror. Even through the gag, I could hear her trying to scream her rejection.

“It’s quite fascinating, really,” I continued, enjoying her obvious terror. “The drug can selectively erase specific

memories while leaving others intact. Very precise, very effective.”

I leaned closer, my lips near her ear. “I’m taking you somewhere new, Aria. Somewhere safe and isolated.

You’ll take the drug and revert to a time before Dominic entered your life. A time when you loved me with

complete devotion.”

She shook her head violently, tears streaming down her face. Through her wolf’s scent, I could sense her

absolute rejection of the idea.

“You’re horrified now,” I acknowledged with Alpha arrogance. “But that’s only because Dominic’s influence is

still clouding your judgment. Once your wolf’s bond with him is chemically severed, you’ll remember who you

really belong to.”

Her muffled protests grew more desperate, and I could see the fight in her eyes. Good. The old Aria would

have fought this hard for me.

“Twelve years, Aria,” I reminded her, my voice dropping to a whisper. “You loved me for twelve years before he came along. That kind of devotion doesn’t just disappear. It gets buried under newer experiences, but it’s still

there.”

She tried to pull away from me, but the ropes held her secure. Her pregnant wolf’s distress was palpable, and

I could see her hands trying to protect her belly.

memories of who the father is.
