We smile and walk over to her tense form. She continues to stare down at her feet, not wanting to meet our gaze. We take her soft hand in ours and open her palm for her. She doesn't say or do anything so we know that this is alright for her. We place the keys in her palm and close her hand with ours. She looks up at us and finally meets our gaze. Her eyes are so beautiful and wise but you can still see the pain behind them.
We continue to stand there for however long we did until Callie cleared her throat. Doing that must have caused Izzy to come out of a daze because she suddenly flinched away, as if she had touched fire. It hurt us but we still knew why she reacted this way. We had no right to blame her for it, she could not control what had happended in her old pack.
"Come on you two. We're going to be late." Callie says climbing into the backseat. We clear our throat and let Izzy move past us. She tries not to make any contact and it works. We slide into the car and she turns the ignition on. Slowly easing out of the garage we begin our journey to school.
Well that journey was short lived.
Not even ten minutes went by before we pulled up to the school parking lot. It was a very old school from what we've heard of but it was also one of the best. Climbing out of the car we scanned the whole area. It seemed we'd drawn attention to ourselves somehow because everyone was starring over at us. We looked over at Callie, who only smirked, shrugged her bag over her shoulder and lead us towards the office.
"Why's everyone starring at us?" Izzy asks softly as we walk up the stairs and enter the huge building. We walked down the packed halls but even then people stared. As we approached the office Callie slowed down then turned towards us.
"Well here our family rules this school. No one hangs with us unless they're family. You two are but no one knows that, so they find it odd. So, I have to get to class now, you two think you can get around without my help?" We tell her we'll be fine and that she doesn't need to worry. She smiles then walks off leaving us and Izzy alone in the empty hallway. She looks us then walks past us, inside the office. We first have to sit through a boring introduction with the principle then finally we receive our schedules. We walk out the office and look at what the both of us have for first period.
"Math."
"So you're a Black? That's so amazing. Plus you're really cute." Girl number one says to us as she leans over, showing off her chest. We grimace as the other one tries the exact same thing but they are both interrupted by a loud snort.
"If you two are going to act like sluts, try and do a better job." The person from behind me snorts. We turn around and face blonde curly hair and a pair of stormy grey eyes. He smiles over at us and sticks his hand out for us to shake. We smile and shake his hand, not even noticing that the two girls pulled back and were glaring at him.
"Eric's the name and pissing people off is my game." He smirks and discreetly looks over at the two glaring girls. The period goes by quickly and it helps that my new friend, Eric, is excellent in the subject. After being away from school for so long I couldn't even keep up with the work. I had trouble understanding some of the stuff but Eric helped me out. Thank the Lord for Eric.
