Not Ready For My Mate novel Chapter 75

"P-Please Izzy, just give me another chance-"

"Goodbye Beau." She stands up and begins to walk, leaving us and Beau. We look at him, tilting our head in confusion.

"If you're gonna hurt me more go ahead. There's nothing more you could do to break me." He says bitterly, looking down in shame. We scoff and place money on the table.

"Here's the thing Beau, I don't pity you. From what I've heard and seen, you broke her heart and her trust. You're an idiot for thinking that she'd trust you again. She may say she forgives you, but I highly doubt that. You lost something very special today, and thats your own stupid mistake. I may not have known her for a long time, but I'll be the idiot if I let her go, even if she only considers me a friend." Our heart clenches at the realisation. We like Izzy, we want to be with her, but we know we can't. She has a mate out there somewhere.

She'll be happier with him, than she'd ever be with us.

"You stay away from Izzy." He growls and stands up suddenly. "If you're trying to be intimidating, its not working. You have no say in what I feel for her, so back off." We sneer then walk off, not able to stand his presence anymore.

After walking away we met up with Izzy and went back to the house. She kept quiet during the whole drive and we understood that she didn't want to speak. When we returned to the pack house, everyone was ready to leave. We packed the cars and went off.

When we returned home, Callie immediately greeted us. She apparently knew Izzy as well, its like they were the best of friends. Great, the girl we like is best friends with our sister, lucky us, note the sarcasm.

I warned mom not to tell Callie how we felt about Izzy, but I suspect she already knows. Gage and I are not really discrete about it though. We think Izzy knows but she's either ignoring it or she's just very oblivious, we're hoping its the latter.

Mother spoke with me and Izzy and told us that she enrolled us in the nearby high school. It's apparently an all supernatural school, well aside from some of the human mates, but there are very few. I'm excited. Gage and Izzy? Not so much. Shame, they'll just have to suck it up.

"You both start tomorrow." She says and leaves us alone in the kitchen. We turn to Izzy and you can already see the pain in her eyes. We place our hand on her shoulder, making her face us.

Gage I both know that she'd never leave her mate for us, especially if she knew what a monster we were. The both of us just need to learn that this isn't a fairytale where they live happily ever after, its real life, and in real life there's many dissapointments.

"I guess I'm excited for it." We say nonchalantly, while in actual fact I'm smiling from ear to ear inside our head. Gage? Not so much. We continue to eat our breakfast in silence, discussing a few things here and there. Once everyone's finished with their food we grab our bags and head for the garage.

"You want to drive Theo?" We hear Callie asks us as she grabs a set of keys off the key rack. She tosses it over to us and we catch it. We gulp and look up at her, not wanting to tell her that we've never learnt. Silly thing to be embarrassed about but we can't help it. Knowing that our little sister can do much more than us, in a normal life that is, hurts our pride. It's a natural thing to feel, not like other people have never wanted their pride to be damaged.

"Can I drive?" We hear Izzy ask from behind Callie. We turn to face her but her head is down, not making eye contact. She looks up, meeting our gaze and immediately drops them.

"Sure you can Izzy. You don't mind, right bro?" Callie says with a megawatt smile, probably because Izzy's finally asking for something. Ever since she came here, she would never ask for anything. Heck she almost went hungry because no one offered her some food. They just assumed she'd ask then get some for herself.
