In truth, nearly everyone already knew that the two of them liked each other. Teresa's glances toward Anox often revealed subtle hints of affection.
It was something anyone with a bit of sense could see. The only person who had been hesitant all along was Anox.
He had always avoided confronting his feelings, coming up with various excuses to run from them. It was not surprising, then, that when Chevy asked him to make a choice previously, he immediately chose to step back.
Despite how he cared for everyone as the eldest in his family and among his peers, he struggled to prioritize his own emotions. He constantly looked after his younger brother and the others, always mindful of their feelings. That had led to him neglecting his own desires when it came to love.
That was precisely why Kalo had secretly organized this whole plan with the othersβto push Anox into a situation where he would be forced to confess his feelings. They wanted to give him no way out to ensure he finally spoke his mind.
Seeing that Anox was still hesitating, Kalo suddenly grabbed him by the collar and demanded, "Are you planning to live like this for the rest of your life, Anox? If you like her, just say it!"
"I... I don't know how to say it..." Anox stammered, breaking free from Kalo's grip.
"I-I'll tell her at a later time!" Anox tried to flee, but Kalo caught him by the arm as he was about to leave.
"Are you seriously planning to spend your entire life like this?!" Kalo demanded, his voice filled with frustration.
Chevy stepped forward and added, "Anox, running away from the problem won't solve anything. I know how you feelβthe uncertainty, the fear that you might not be able to give Teresa the happiness she deservesβ¦
"But even someone like me, who doesn't let emotions rule them, understands the fact that love is about the present. No one can predict the future.
"Tomorrow could be the end of the world for all we know. So, are you going to express your feelings or let them disappear along with the rest of the world? It's not about the outcome or the process. With love, as long as there are no regrets, that's all that matters."
Chevy's words struck a chord with Anox, leaving him deep in thought.
"No regrets... Is that it?" he muttered.
Kalo chimed in, "Exactly, Anox. Ask yourself what you really want."
"What I want..."
Coming back to the present, Anox placed a hand over his chest, right where his heart was beating.
Just as Kalo and Chevy had said, maybe he should not leave things unresolved...
Noticing the change in Anox, Kalo's grin widened.
"Well? Have you made your decision?"
Anox sighed. "Kalo... If this fails, I'm going to punch you straight in the face."
"Haha, alright then! I look forward to it!" Kalo laughed.
Just then, Kalo's phone buzzed with a new message. It was from Enid.
