I shook my head and said, "It's alright, it's bearable." It was just a minor injury after all.
The doctor nodded, applied some medicine, and left a bottle of it for Hendrix. He reminded him, "Be sure to apply the medicine in the morning and at night, and you'll be fine after a few days of rest."
Hendrix nodded and asked Evan to send the doctor away.
He continued hugging me and did not let go.
I knew he was worried about me. The more silent he was, the more guilty he felt.
I lifted my hand and tugged at his clothes, saying, "Hendrix, I've not had dinner yet."
After going through so much, I was quite famished.
He raised his hand and his gaze fell on me. A faint smile appeared at the corner of his lips, and his voice was sultry, "Alright, what do you want to eat?"
"Anything!"
He nodded and gave me a kiss on the forehead, reaching out to cover me with the quilt.
When the bedroom was empty, I could not help but sigh. The incident earlier had probably added fuel to the fire with Robert Group's situation.
I felt a little thirsty so I got up to get myself some water. The wound on my knee was not that serious. It was just an abrasion, so it didn't hurt that much.
I went downstairs. Hendrix and Evan were in the kitchen. The two men were slender, and just looking at their backs was particularly pleasing to the eye.
Something was cooking on the stove. Hendrix was washing the vegetables while Evan was helping him get things. The two of them seemed to be talking about something.
I walked in, about to get myself a glass of water.
"How did Arianna's whereabouts get revealed?" Hendrix asked.
I was stunned for a moment and could not help but look over.
As both of them were busy with their own tasks, they did not notice me coming downstairs.
Evan replied, "Madam met Miss Hammer in the hospital."
Hendrix lifted his eyebrows, "Miss Hammer?"
"Chloe!"
cares about the most."
Evan raised his eyebrows and said, "I understand!"
Evan took a paper towel beside him and wiped his hands dry. He grabbed his phone and prepared to leave.
Hendrix carried the pot away from the stove and said with an indifferent look, "She is only a woman after all. Do not go overboard and help me say hello to Josiah. If he cares, then just give her a lesson. But if he doesn't, you can do as you see fit."
Evan nodded and turned to leave the kitchen.
I was in the living room and heard everything they said. Evan walked out of the door and was surprised to see me. But after a moment, he smiled and greeted, "Madam!"
Then he left.
I stood there and saw Hendrix come out of the kitchen. When his eyes fell on my bare feet, he frowned. "Why aren't you wearing shoes?"
I replied, "I came downstairs in a hurry and forgot." He lifted me up and sent me back to my bedroom.
When he was about to go downstairs again, I grabbed onto him. He looked back at me with a smile, "What's wrong?"
