My Pretty Sweetheart (Arianna) novel Chapter 707

Once the door opened, it was hard to close.

Countless flashes of light beamed at me. They could not wait to take pictures of me or anything related to me so that they had something to comment on the Internet.

"Madam, we might have to get out of the car." A bodyguard said, his voice breathy and shaky from panic.

Even though I was under the protection of two bodyguards, the group of reporters were like a pack of hungry wolves; they definitely outnumbered us and we only stood to lose if we left the car.

The road was blocked, and there was no way for us to escape.

Numerous cameras and video cameras were directed at me, interrogative voices mixed with abusive words filled my ears. They could not wait to force me onto a stand, coercing me to confess to the things they wanted to hear.

The phone in my pocket vibrated vigorously. I knew now, without a doubt, that I had been exposed to everyone.

Hendrix was calling me.

Subconsciously, I reached to fish out my phone but I lost my grip on it and dropped it somewhere.

My vision blurred and I felt myself getting sucked into a daze. People were truly powerful. Even though I was just surrounded by them, it was enough to scare me to the core. I wasn't sure how my face looked right now, but I gathered I must be looking ghastly.

Evan rushed over with more than 20 bodyguards behind him. After opening a path amongst the crowd, he quickly helped me out.

Ignoring the reporters' words, I lowered my head, thinking about how Hendrix had secretly protected me for so long, but that all seemed to be wasted effort.

Plus, with the appearance of Evan, who was Hendrix's special assistant who followed him everywhere, this would undoubtedly stir up more speculations and rumors among the reporters.

Someone asked loudly, "Evan, the Robert Group and Granger Group have been openly and secretly fighting with each other for years. Is it because of that lady beside you?"

Evan did not say anything. He helped me walk out of the crowd.

Someone else raised his voice, "Miss Reid, how many years has it been since you had a relationship with both Mr. Granger and Mr. Roberts? I heard that you have a daughter with you. Is she Mr. Granger or Mr. Roberts' child?"

My head was buzzing. The bedroom door opened, and I saw Hendrix's handsome face tensed.

A doctor was behind him. He ordered, "Check if she's hurt." Then he looked back at Evan and said, "Cook some ginger soup to keep her warm."

Evan nodded and left.

He walked over to me and hugged me without saying a thing. The doctor opened the first aid kit.

He looked at me, "Madam, I need to see where you wounded yourself."

I was dumbfounded for a moment before stretching out my hand to push the hem of the skirt away. A bruise appeared on my knee. It was uncomfortable to see.

Hendrix's arms that were hugging me tightened. He looked at the doctor and said, "Please be gentle. She's not good with pain!"

The doctor nodded and pressed on the bruise lightly with his fingertips. After a pause, he looked at me and asked, "Does it hurt?"
