Charles snapped, "Act like a decent person, Warwick! You're as twisted as ever, and you expect everyone else to be the same? Were you recording just now? Well, I have a copy too. Did you really think you could pull these cheap tricks on me? You're an idiot!"
With that, he abruptly hung up the phone. Warwick had always relied on underhanded tactics to climb the ranks, and now he thought the same methods would work on Charles.
Charles scoffed to himself, "Dream on!"

In a foreign land, Joe and his team exited the company building after their meeting. They hadn't walked far when a stunning mixed-race woman hurried out of the building, calling after them.
She headed straight for Joe. "Mr. Martin, our CEO asked me to let you know that if you need anything over the next few days, you can contact me directly. I'll handle everything for you."
The woman, Beata Stevenson, was half-Clusian and possessed the grace of a supermodel. Her beauty was almost ethereal, but her poised demeanor hinted at exceptional professionalism.
Joe gave a curt nod, his expression impassive, and continued walking. Beata watched him leave without sparing her a second glance, raising an eyebrow in amusement.
One of the women accompanying her remarked, "Just like the rumors say—Joe doesn't seem interested in beautiful women. Even someone as stunning as you couldn't get his attention!"
Beata, momentarily surprised, quickly composed herself. She was well aware of the advantage her looks gave her, but men like Joe weren't unfamiliar to her.
On the surface, he seemed indifferent, but in reality, he was probably already calculating his next move. Men like him loved the game—taking a woman to bed, then discussing business afterward.
Natalie had taken an instant liking to Vivian, who responded with the composure of an adult, "Okay! I like Mrs. Powell."
Natalie laughed so hard she could barely stop. Of course, her suggestion was only in jest. After all, marriages were their children's own business. There was no way they'd tie their kids down so young.
When Vivian left to practice the piano, Natalie turned to Skylar and sighed. "Seeing Vivian just now reminded me of my own kids."
Perhaps this was what motherhood felt like. Sometimes, she wanted to let go of everything, yet she realized there were so many people who needed her attention—her children included.
Skylar picked up on her mood and asked, "Are you thinking about going back?"

Is the author going to finally portray Skylark as a brave woman who can argue and communicate like a normal person in this real world? Hoping so.......
I don't like this story portraying Skylark's personality as too weak, too naive, Can't even defend herself Like accepting every humiliation from Vera's schemes and injustice without saying anything or doing anything. I wonder who is the protagonist in this novel, Vera or Skylark....
