“Call the Pack enforcers then.” I answered.
Ryan paused, then chuckled softly. “Baby, why are you so cute?”
He cupped my face gently and leaned down to kiss me.
His hand also slipped quietly under my shirt.
I hurriedly pushed him away. “My stomach hurts today
Ryan frowned at my words. “Stomachache? And your stomach still feels off?”
1 shook my head. “No.”
His hand moved to my belly. “Let me rub it for you.”
I pulled his hand away. “No need.”
His hand froze in place.
After a long pause, he snorted coldly, “Fine, then keep hurting. I’m done with you.”
He lay down, turning his back to me.
I knew he was sulking and wanted me to coax him.
But I just sneered, closed my book, turned off the light, and went to sleep.
That night, my lower belly kept aching.
I tossed and turned, unable to sleep, curling myself into a tight ball.
Finally, Ryan sighed softly.
He pulled me close and gently patted my back.
His voice was hoarse with sleepiness.
“Baby, you’re so pitiful. I wish I could take this pain away for you…”
I froze, a cold sweat breaking across my back.
I said nothing, just smiled sarcastically.
The next morning, when I woke up groggy, Ryan was already awake.
He stood by the bed, scrolling through my phone with a grim expression.
When he saw I was awake, he looked at me with a fake smile.
“Baby, be honest with me, are you hiding something from me?”
I yawned lightly. “What could I possibly hide from you?”

“So you’re not telling me?”
“Fine. Then explain this…”
He shoved my phone up to my face, almost touching my nose.
“Why did the Pack hospital send you pre-op instructions for an abortion?”
His voice grew colder.
“Baby, how come I didn’t know you were pregnant?”
I tensed at that moment, my temples throbbing.
But I quickly composed myself.
“Oh, it’s no big deal.”
