Angelica forced out a sob. "Dad, Young Master Foster is such a distinguished figure—how could I possibly deserve his help? Just take me to the hospital. I can manage..."

Joe hesitated. "Angelica..."

"Who said Young Master Foster refused?"

Selina flashed a sly smile. "He’s actually quite kind. Since a life’s on the line, why not ask him before assuming anything?"

Before Joe could say a word, Aiden nodded. "Angelica’s condition can’t wait. Bring me my medical kit."

Joe froze—Aiden agreed? Just like that?

Selina looked straight at her, smiling as Angelica’s expression twisted in panic. Her smile deepened.

"Or... is it that you’re afraid to be examined by Young Master Foster? Are you hiding something? Could it be that you were never pregnant at all?"

"I am not afraid!"

Angelica snapped. Her nerves were already stretched thin, and Selina’s words made her snap completely.

"Good," Selina said sweetly. "Young Master Foster, please."

Tears streamed down Angelica’s face. "I... I just want a doctor I know... I..."

Selina shrugged. "Keep dodging, and I’ll really start thinking this pregnancy is fake. I mean, who refuses medical care right after a miscarriage? Unless there was no pregnancy to begin with."

"Shut up, Selina!" Joe roared, then turned to Angelica, voice softening, "Don’t worry, sweetheart, I’m right here with you."

Angelica was sobbing hysterically. When she saw Aiden approaching with his medical kit, closer and closer, she finally broke down completely.

Her piercing scream stunned everyone into silence.

Aiden calmly reached her and placed his fingers on her wrist to check her pulse. Angelica trembled in panic under his touch.

Joe anxiously asked, "Young Master Foster, how is my daughter? She’s going to be okay, right?"

Aiden glanced at Selina, who winked at him with a teasing smile and strolled back to Logan.

Logan narrowed his eyes and lowered his voice. "Mrs. Reid, a word of warning—the Reid family’s doctors are all loyal to Angelica. Even if she’s not pregnant, they’ll swear she is."

Selina blinked playfully. "But Reid family doctors aren’t Aiden. If he says Angelica isn’t pregnant, who’s going to argue?"

Logan’s brow lifted slightly. "So you’re that confident Aiden will back you up."

Selina huffed, chin up. "Of course."

Logan gave her a long look. "And what exactly is your relationship with Aiden?"

Selina smirked proudly. "I’m not telling. Guess."
