Angelica smiled gently and said, "Selina, Order whatever you like. We haven’t seen each other in four years, so we should have a proper reunion. A little money is nothing to worry about."
Gavin was about to retort that Selina was the actual owner of AS Grand Hotel and didn’t need Angelica to pay for her meal.
However, before he could say anything, he saw Selina unexpectedly take the menu and start browsing through it seriously.
She skimmed the menu—not because she really wanted to order food.
But since someone had so generously offered their face to be slapped, it would be a shame not to take the opportunity.
"Well, since Angelica insists, I won’t hold back."
Selina casually picked a few dishes. "This one, this one, and this soup... Oh, and a bottle of this red wine..."
With a single wave of her hand, she ordered ten dishes, racking up a seven-figure bill. Even Angelica’s smile stiffened. "Selina..."
"Hm? Too much?" Selina feigned surprise. "My bad, I thought you were loaded, Angelica. If you can’t afford it, just say so. I’ll pay for myself."
People around them started taking notice.
Even though the place was supposedly reserved, AS Grand Hotel was under Hill Family’s brand. Coincidentally, two members of the Hill Family were visiting the hotel for an inspection. They happened to pass by and glanced over in curiosity.
Angelica immediately felt as if those two were mocking her. She clenched her teeth and forced a smile. "Of course not. As long as it makes my dear sister happy, I don’t mind."
"Oh, in that case, I’ll continue."
Selina’s tone was light and unbothered. "Let’s add a Frrrozen Haute Chocolate to the order."
Silence fell over the room.
The manager and servers all gave her startled looks.
Zara scoffed loudly. "Selina, you’re such a country bumpkin! Do you not know that AS Grand Hotel only serves three Frrrozen Haute Chocolates per day, and they require advance reservations? You think just any random stray can walk in and demand one?"
The manager interjected, "Today’s Frrrozen Haute Chocolates have already been reserved."
Angelica sighed with exaggerated helplessness. "Selina, don’t make things difficult for the staff."
Selina lazily twirled a strand of hair around her finger. "Oh? I thought Mr. Reid cared about you. He didn’t even reserve a Frrrozen Haute Chocolate for you?"
Angelica’s expression darkened instantly, but she suppressed her frustration. "Selina, Mr. Reid is a busy man. How could I trouble him over something as trivial as dessert? You’re so immature."
Selina nearly laughed.
Angelica really didn’t miss a single chance to throw shade at her.
Too lazy to argue, she turned to the manager. "Are you sure there aren’t any left? I suggest you call the kitchen and check again." fɾeeweɓnѳveɭ.com
"There’s none left. I already told you—"
The manager’s dismissive response was cut short by the sudden ringing of the internal line. He picked up the call, and his expression quickly changed. "Frrrozen Haute Chocolate? Yes... Yes..."
After hanging up, the manager gave Selina a begrudging look and spoke in an oddly forced tone. "The kitchen kept one last portion. Consider yourself lucky."
Strange.
Why did the kitchen specifically say this last Frrrozen Haute Chocolate was reserved for Selina?
What made her so special?
Shortly after, the food was served.
The Frrrozen Haute Chocolate was placed in front of Selina.
Angelica clenched her jaw so tightly she nearly ground her teeth to dust. "Selina..."
Zara fumed. "Manager Butler, are you kidding me?! Even if the kitchen had one more left, it was obviously meant for Angelica! Why did you give it to this nobody?! Do you think Angelica is easy to bully?"
Manager Butler frowned. "That was the kitchen’s order—"
"Zara, it’s fine." Angelica put on a saintly act. "If Selina wants it, she can have it. After all, I’m the older sister."
