Chapter 2308
The man seemed to pause for a second, then nodded. “Your mother and I used to be classmates.”
“Classmates?” Ava was surprised again.
The man nodded, his gentle eyes never once moving away from Ava's face. However, his expression started to look a little serious.
“Your mother and I knew each other many years ago, but I left Glendale to study medicine. It’s been more than ten years since I left. I didn’t have your mother’s contact information during that period of time and we only got in touch recently.” 2 After listening to the man's explanation, Ava blinked and pondered silently. +
Why did it sound like this doctor shared a close relationship with Raegan?
Ava wondered. When a thought appeared in her head, Raegan came over.
“Dinner is ready. Wash your hands and come to the dining room.”
Raegan glanced at the man calmly before turning to Ava.
“Ava, what would you like to drink? I'll get it for you.”
“Im fine with anything. Dr. Long, what would you like to drink?”
“I’ll have whatever you ladies have.” The man smiled slightly and looked at Raegan.
Ava caught sight of Raegan and the man looking at each other. She kept feeling as though there was something odd in her heart, but she could not put a finger on what it was.
She did not think anymore and followed the man and Raegan to the dining room for dinner. °
The dinner was sumptuous, and Raegan had prepared everything herself.
After listening to Raegan’s and the man's words, Ava gradually stopped eating and tugged the corners of her lips into a forced smile.
“Thank you, Dr. Long. You guys should eat first. I just remembered that I have an important call to make.”
Ava got up and walked to the living room.
Raegan and the man wanted to say something, but they tacitly came to an understanding and did not stop her.
When they saw Ava leave the dining room, the man put down the tableware. A heavy sense of sadness and unspeakable joy suddenly appeared on his face.
“It's been more than ten years. I didn't expect her to be so slender and elegant. Rae, Ava really looks like when you were young.”
“Neil, [have to remind you. Don't say anything you shouldn’t. If Ava suspects that you’ re the biological father she has hated for so many years, she’ll leave immediately.”
