Chapter 2309

Neil's face changed in an instant, and a trace of anxiety flashed in his red eyes.

“Rae, does our daughter really hate me that much?”

“She doesn’t just hate you, she hates me too.” Raegan sighed helplessly. “But who can blame her for feeling this way? We can only blame ourselves for causing this.”

“No, you can't blame yourself. It’s my fault.” Neil took all the blame himself. “If I had found out earlier—”

“It's been so many years. Don't mention it again.” Raegan interrupted, not wanting to recall the painful memories related to her family.

“No matter what happened back then, it was our fault as parents. We shouldn't have left Ava alone and made her into an orphan. The child went without parental love for more than ten years. That’s something we’ll never be able to make up for in our lifetimes.”

Having said that, Neil also sighed in remorse. + Although Raegan was also sad, a smile crept back up to her face after thinking about how Ava was slowly trying to accept her as her mother again. “Okay, don't think about it too much. Ava is our biological daughter, after all. This child seems hard-headed, but she has a soft heart. I believe that one day, she’]l be willing to accept you as her father again.”

“Really?” Neil was full of anticipation, and his tone became a little excited. “If that’s the case, then it’ll be great. Then we can be reunited as a family.”

“Reunited as a family?” Raegan seemed to doubt the word for a short moment.

It was something that people yearned for, but it seemed very far from their touch judging by how things were now.

Raegan sighed silently, and when she heard Ava's footsteps approaching, she quickly gave Neila hint. She lowered her voice to remind him.

After dinner, Ava helped Raegan to clear the table. After the tableware was in the dishwasher, the two of them went back to the living room.

Neil sat on the sofa and had some documents in his hands. He looked like he was very seriously reading them.

Ava walked over and saw that Neil was looking at the medical records she brought, so she approached him. “I was just about to give them to you, but you’re already looking at them.” +

Upon hearing this, Neil raised his head. The serious expression on his face dissipated a lot. “I saw them on the coffee table, so I picked them up and started reading.” °

‘It's alright. I was going to show them to you anyway.” Ava sat down. “This is the information of all the examinations and treatments my boyfriend underwent after his car accident. Doctor, how long do you think my boyfriend will take to recover based on his current condition?”
