Chapter 58
Charlotte strode briskly through the corridors, her stilettos clicking sharply against the gleaming marble floor. The tension in her movements was palpable, her anger simmering just beneath the surface. Staff members watched her pass with apprehension, shrinking back as her fierce presence advanced relentlessly toward the Public Relations manager’s office.
Without hesitation, Charlotte kicked open the door with a harsh bang that echoed through the room. Her voice thundered, laced with fury, “Elaine, I want answers–right now!”
Startled, Elaine glanced up, surprised by Charlotte’s sudden intrusion. “Charlotte, what’s going on?”
Charlotte stepped fully inside and slammed the door behind her, shutting out the prying eyes beyond. Crossing her arms, she fixed Elaine with a cold, accusing stare. “Who gave you permission to assign work to Georgia? Don’t you know she’s still unwell? Did I ever approve this?”
Elaine’s expression twisted into a mixture of relief and indignation upon hearing Charlotte’s focus on Georgia. “Charlotte, I manage the Public Relations Department. Isn’t it my prerogative to schedule my staff? Besides, I didn’t put Georgia on the roster today. And even if I had, I have every right to do so. I’m her superior.”
Charlotte’s lips curled into a sneer. “If that’s how you see it, then you’re leaving me no choice. Elaine, don’t bother coming In tomorrow.”
Elaine’s eyes sharpened, burning with disbelief. “What are you saying? You can’t just fire me for asking a sick employee to work!”
Charlotte’s
ce hardened, leaving no room for argument. “Let me be perfectly clear. You don’t need to show up tomorrow -or the day after. Pack your things and go back to Dark Spike. You’re fired.”
A storm of rage trembled in Elaine’s frame. Though lacking Alpha blood, her roots ran deep in the Dark Spike Pack. Growing up there had taught her pride and defiance. Yet Charlotte–a rogue taken in by the pack–had just dismissed her like dirt.

Elaine slammed her palm on the desk, rising with shaking hands. This is outrageous! What did I do wrong? You can’t fire me like this!“*
“Did I tell you t
I you to send Georgia to work? She’s sick. How is that so difficult to understand?” Charlotte demanded.
*She could have called in sick,” Elaine shot back coldly. “But since she showed up, I wasn’t going to let her waste away. Sick or not, she had a job to do,”
Charlotte’s sneer deepened. She didn’t believe in forcing the ill to work, but Elaine’s reasoning struck a chord. Still, the real problem wasn’t assigning Georgia work–it was the nature of that job.
“And that’s why you sent her to Titus’s room on the third floor?” Charlotte’s voice dipped into bitter mockery. “Maybe some don’t know what Titus is, but you’ve been at Vetro Club long enough. Don’t tell me you’re clueless. The Blue Moon Pack is infamous for torturing call girls for amusement. You knew that.”
She scolded her with venom. “Georgia still has stitches on her head, and you sent her to Titus. That man is a monster, How many girls have died under his cruelty?”
Elaine’s anger flared at first, thinking Charlotte was exaggerating–but the next words chilled her, and a cold sweat broke out across her forehead.
“Do you know who pulled Georgia out?” Charlotte spat, the name sharp and cutting. “Alpha Preston”
Everyone in the room knew Preston–boss of Vetro Club, feared and revered.
