Nearly everyone at Vetro Club recognized Preston, though few knew he owned the place.
Vetro Club was modest in scale, its reputation far from grand.
In this charged atmosphere, Simon laughed aloud, eyes gleaming as he addressed Preston. “My Moon Goddess! This is too good. Raven told you to obey the club rules–what’s your move?”
Preston chuckled low. “You’re right.”
He fixed Raven with a cool stare. “Unfortunately for you, I am the rules here.”
Raven blinked, confused by his meaning.
Charlotte leaned in, voice sharp. “Vetro Club is Mr. Hill’s domain. Raven, if you want to keep working here, heed Mr. Hill and don’t provoke his wrath.”
Raven’s face grew pale.
“If you make Mr. Hill angry, you might still find another job after you leave. Otherwise…” Charlotte’s voice dropped to a whisper, “Someone will drag you to the Silent Forest. You know what lurks in its depths.”
Raven trembled violently, collapsing in fearful submission.

have some… amusement.”
Yvette’s eyes widened in sudden understanding. If she refused, she would become the “toy.”
She dared not imagine the horrors that might await her.
If Raven and Yvette still didn’t grasp the reason for their suffering, then they were truly hopeless.
But what baffled them most was why the man behind the scenes–this powerful Alpha–was punishing them personally. After all, Georgia had been just a cleaner.
“Mr. Hill, I can sing,” Yvette said carefully. “But I don’t understand. Georgia was only a cleaner with nothing. We were just joking around with her. We’ll accept the punishment and won’t resist, but isn’t it too harsh?”
Joking?
Preston’s lips curved into a faint, unreadable smile.
He recognized the look–the same stubborn defiance Georgia wore three years ago, when she stood her ground and refused to back down.
He turned away from Yvette’s face.
She lacked Georgia’s pride and that rare spark of charm.
His patience with Raven and Yvette had worn thin.
“Charlotte, remind her of the rules.”
“Of course,” Charlotte said smoothly.
With elegant cruelty, she stared at Yvette. “You’re smart. You know what comes next.”
