In days past, she had declared with fire, “If Giselle becomes your mate, I walk away from you.” Now, she was a shadow of herself–groveling, apologizing, stripped of dignity.
He was blind to the truth behind his ruthless games: he was the one who reshaped her.
He justified his cruelty by convincing himself she deserved it–because she killed Giselle.
Charlotte caught Preston’s words this time, clear as a bell: the order to send Georgia to the Public Relations Department.
At Vetro Club, the PR Department’s main task was managing the girls
Charlotte cast a worried glance at Georgia’s ghostly pale face. Something strange was happening between these two, something she had never seen before from Preston.
To him, Vetro Club was just a small venture, nothing personal.
“Georgia, come with me,” Charlotte said firmly.
Suddenly, Georgia lifted her head, eyes pleading toward Preston. “No, I don’t want that.”
“I don’t want to work in the Public Relations Department, Mr. Hill,” she begged desperately. “I know I was wrong. Please, just let me go. I’ve already paid my dues–three years in prison. Please give me back my bank card, and I swear I’ll disappear. I won’t ever make you see me again.”
Her voice trembled, her desperation raw. She failed to notice the flicker of surprise in Charlotte’s eyes when she mentioned. her time behind bars.
Charlotte had joined the Dark Spike Pack only two years ago; she knew nothing of Georgia’s past.
Preston’s eyes narrowed dangerously. She still thinks she can run?”
Using a mental command, Preston sent an order to one of his subordinates.
Moments later, a knock sounded at the door. Preston’s aide entered, holding out a card.
Preston crouched slowly, fingers poised delicately around the bank card. “All the money in this account has just been transferred,” he said coolly.
Georgia stared at the card, then back at Preston, confusion flickering in her eyes.
“You want me to let you go, right?” he asked quietly.
She blinked, stunned, but nodded immediately.
“Do you think I’m a good person?” Preston’s voice dripped with sarcasm.
She said nothing
