Wolfless, Unbroken Abandoned novel Chapter 13

Chapter 13

Georgia gritted her teeth and quickened her pace, digging her nails into her skin harder.

Preston watched her accelerate and smiled with a predator’s satisfaction.

“A toy should behave like a toy,” he muttered under his breath.

He reached out, his large hand grasping her firmly. The last wisp of cigarette smoke escaped his lips as he passed the butt to a subordinate without glancing at it.

His palm closed around Georgia’s chin, squeezing sharply.

Pain shot through her.

Preston tilted her head up and down, savoring the worn, defeated look etched across her face.

“You used to be so arrogant, Miss Cooper. Now, you grovel to a taxi driver who slapped you. Where’s your pride?”

She trembled, voice barely audible. “Did you send someone after me?”

“Not an idiot,” he replied coldly.

Her face paled further, twisting into a bitter smile.

She thought bitterly, of course. Preston wouldn’t let me slip away that easily.

Disgust curled in Preston’s gaze at her despair.

He yanked her by the wrist and shoved her toward his car.

“Walt–my money!” Georgia shouted, racing toward the taxi.

Before she could reach it, a long arm wrapped tightly around her waist.

“My money! How can I-

“Without money.

how do you expect to run?”

Preston cut her off, voice frosty. “Am I right?”

“Let me go! My money!” she screamed, struggling.

Fury flared in Preston’s eyes.

He couldn’t believe the woman before him was the same Georgia–once so bold, so proud.

She had confessed her love to him, declared him her one true mate despite rejection.

She had dared to tell him, “Preston, you’re powerful. You shouldn’t have weaknesses. Your woman shouldn’t be one of them. Only I deserve to be your Luna.”

He had always pushed her away.

Yet she persisted: “Unless you reject me, unless Giselle is your mate, I won’t give up on you! I want to be your Luna!”

She had been a woman full of fire.

Now she begged.

“Please, give me back my money.”

“Money. My money. Let me go. I can’t leave without it.”

His lips brushed her ear, his words venomous nightmares.

“I won’t let you go so easily. You should have run far away. But since fate has brought us back together, Georgia, you will never leave.”
