Presley stood there awkwardly and couldn't vent his frustrations at anyone.
He could ignore Xavier, but the strange monkey demon looked downright bizarre.
Shannon hadn't intended to ridicule Xavier; she was genuinely curious. Who did Presley think he was to say those things to her?
As a cast member, he had no real connection to her, and as a normal human, he was unaware of the rules of the mystic arts community and had no right to comment.
Shannon didn't want to waste time debating the intricacies between mystic masters and phantom cultivators. Instead, she turned her attention to Bella, who was still in Presley's arms.
Then, she asked, "Bella, do you think the previous match was unfair and that I was picking on you?"
Before Bella could respond, she added, "Or would you like to have another match? This time against me?"
Bella's hand, which had been hanging by her side, clenched tightly. She had been completely caught off guard when Presley had suddenly shielded her.
She hadn't expected him to rush over and protect her, let alone speak up for her afterward, but his actions didn't move her.
Taking a deep breath, she pushed Presley aside and looked at him with a cold aloof expression. "Thank you for helping me, but next time, don't bother."
Then, she turned to Shannon and straightened her posture slightly. "I lost, and I have nothing more to say."
Presley was momentarily stunned by her demeanor. After a pause, he lowered his gaze slightly and forced a faint smile.
"I misunderstood. Sorry about that."
She grabbed the monkey demon and bid farewell to the production crew. Then, she disappeared entirely from the livestream.
Before leaving, she turned to give Bella a deep meaningful look.
Through the screen, she'd just sensed something strange about Bella. Now after meeting her face-to-face, that feeling became more pronounced.
In fact, Shannon vaguely sensed a familiar presence from Bella. But that person had long been sealed of her spiritual energy. Both her appearance and energy were entirely different from Bella's.
Yet Shannon couldn't ignore the fleeting sensation she'd just had from the familiar black smoke around Bella. Though it'd vanished completely, she didn't think it was just a coincidence or an illusion.
After some thought, she dialed Skylar's number. "Skylar, can you find out where Maya is right now?"
