Blossom retrieved his serpent's egg from the employee locker room. He kept the egg with him wherever he went since the incident with Poisy and their child.
Despite nurturing it with his supernatural energy, the fetus soul remained fragile.
"The child's fetus soul was damaged from the beginning and had never recovered. I was afraid it wouldn't survive until I found Poisy, so I thought about placing the fetus soul in a human body to strengthen it."
Poisy had always been tasked with incubating the egg, and he dreaded the thought of her discovering he'd failed to protect their child would break their heart.
Shannon fell momentarily silent after hearing Blossom's story. If his words were true, the family did have quite an unfortunate plight.
Humans commonly predated animals. They often disregarded the natural order as long as there was profit to be made.
"I'll report this to the Demon Control Agency."
After a pause, Shannon met Blossom's hopeful gaze and added, "And I'll find your wife."
Blossom's eyes lit up. "Really?"
Kai slapped him on the back with a grin. "If Shannon says she'll help, she will. Don't worry."
That might not be the case for everyone, but Shannon had always kept her word.
By dinnertime, Shannon brought Blossom to the Jensen residence.
Alex had woken up by then, but the thought of potentially carrying a serpent's fetus in his stomach left him utterly despondent.
That was until Shannon arrived with Blossom. The latter carefully brought his serpent's egg forward and extracted the fetus soul from Alex's body to place it gently back into the egg.
Meanwhile, in the basement of a wealthy villa complex, an 80-inch-long reticulated python lay motionless in a specially designed glass enclosure. Its supernatural energy slowly seeped away through its injuries.
A middle-aged man stood before the enclosure and frowned at the python. "Is this python dying? Why isn't it moving?"
A caretaker beside him quickly reassured, "Don't worry, boss. It's just being subdued to make it easier to tame later. It won't die. Look."
He picked up an iron rod and japped it casually through a hole in the glass enclosure to poke at the python.
The python hadn't reacted at first.
Suddenly, its eyes snapped open, and the pupils contracted into vertical slits. The previously motionless python sprang to life and bare venomous fangs as it lunged furiously at the two men outside the enclosure.
