Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1148

The college tournament, as the "preliminary" for the triennial mystical tournament, was highly anticipated within the mystic arts community.

The deans of each college took it seriously, but due to the lengthy timeline of the tournament, the three college deans would only make an appearance at the final match.

Who would've thought that the dean of the organizing college would show up at the end of the first duel? Perhaps he came here for Maya's sake… like Warren.

Maya was a representative of the Jamborough School, so it was only natural for the dean to defend her. Everyone thought that way, including Warren.

Faced with everyone's gazes, the dean, Valentino Sterling, stepped onto the platform. He exuded a composed and gentle demeanor.

In response to the greeting from the fellow lecturers, he merely gave a slight nod of acknowledgment. However, when passing by Shannon, he suddenly stopped and initiated a conversation with her.

"I've seen your performance in the first round. It was quite impressive. I look forward to your future appearance."

Shannon showed zero hint of weakness when faced with Valentino. Rather, she solemnly replied, "Thank you. I'll do my best."

Then, he turned to Skylar and offered some compliments with a gentle tone. Though the atmosphere was relaxed, Mike whispered to Lexie, "Shit, we're done."

Lexie turned her head to Mike, asking softly, "What are you saying?"

He pulled a serious face. "By praising and comforting the aggrieved student, it means he's going to make them suffer even more. This is a common tactic used by those in power!"

He was confident. "I bet the dean is going to defend Maya in the end!"

Hearing that, Lexie and Elliot widened their eyes in disbelief. Was that true?

Perhaps it was a hallucination, but they quickly saw Valentino casting a seemingly casual glance in his direction. But just as quickly, he calmly shifted his gaze away.

Arriving before Warren, Valentino glanced at Maya and said, "The college tournament is specifically designed for people like you—the new generation of talented students within the world of mystic arts.

"You were all carefully selected by your respective lecturers for your outstanding abilities. When young and capable, it's only natural that you get competitive and sometimes act impulsively. I can understand that."

With one key figure missing and failing to secure a ghost bottle in the first round, it was almost impossible for the Jamboroughians to win this year's tournament.

Though they were disappointed and reluctant, most didn't raise any objections. They knew deep down that they were in the wrong.

In contrast to their somber silence, the Seastonians were visibly delighted. Mike inserted himself again, saying, "I knew it! As I said, no deans will ever be this petty and narrow-minded!"

Shannon and her team were at a loss for words. Had he said that? Perhaps he said it in his dreams.

Valentino didn't leave immediately. Instead, he announced the results of the first round, with Seastone School of Mystic Arts taking the lead, and the scores for all the other colleges.

He then signaled for everyone to return and prepare for the second duel of the tournament in two days. As for the format of the next round, it would be revealed on the day itself.

Once he left, Maya could no longer stand another second and stormed off in frustration. Watching her hurried exit, Warren turned to Skylar, his face dark with condemnation.
