"You're so blatantly biased, yet you have the audacity to call Shannon extreme! And you called yourself the patriarch of some mystic arts big-shot family? What a damn joke!
"You're not a Rutherford; you're just rude!"
At the same time, Hector's eyes were filled with coldness. As he looked at Warren on-screen, he began to resent himself for not being part of the mystic arts community. The least he wanted was to be there for Shannon.
Scott asked Kai, "Can we leave comments? Hurry up and scold the shit out of that old man!"
Kai rolled his eyes at him. "This is just the live coverage, not the livestream itself."
He would've filled the entire livestream chat with curses if he could.
While the Jensens were making a fuss, Benjamin sat silently in his residence, his gaze cold and unwavering. Without a word, he picked up his phone and dialed a number.
…
Back at the tournament, Mike and others jumped out immediately upon Warren's statement; even Elliot, a timid hedgehog, stepped forward. That said, they weren't as close to Warren as Skylar was.
Almost instantaneously, Skylar had positioned himself before Shannon and faced Warren with a look of unmistakable hostility. "Take that back!"
"Hey, you. Take that back!"
Two voices rang after another, and the second one belonged to a woman.
When everyone turned their attention to the source of the sound, they saw a girl wearing a hat, sunglasses, and a face mask, suddenly rushing up to the platform from the back of the audience.
Despite her heavy coverage, Shannon and Skylar immediately recognized her from her voice. "Olivia?"
The woman decisively removed her hat and sunglasses before winking at them. "It's me."
"We've invited Ms. Bailes to become the ambassador for our new beauty nourishing pill. To improve her understanding of mystic arts, I've invited her along to watch the tournament. The Jamborough School has given this a green light."
Baxter nodded. "That's right."
To avoid attracting unnecessary attention, Olivia watched the entire game discreetly.
When Warren heard about the use of an "ambassador", his deepening frown reflected his disdain toward the Nolan family.
Not only did they formulate some nonsensical beauty pill, they even hired an ambassador for it—a celebrity that had nothing to do with mystic arts, at that!
Despite his contempt, Olivia wasn't the most pressing issue now. He still had to resolve Maya's situation.
He turned his head, ready to negotiate with Baxter, when another commotion erupted at the entrance. This time, the dean of the Jamborough School of Mystic Arts had arrived.
