Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1011

How could there be fireflies in a season well past summer?

Benjamin's tone was calm as he explained, "There's a firefly breeding farm around here."

Shannon was initially surprised as to why he'd know since he'd just returned, but she soon realized that Hector had most likely told him.

She looked up at him with a smile and asked, "So, is this the other gift you mentioned?"

Benjamin met her gaze with his deep eyes. His voice sounded low and rich like the resonance of a cello as he said, "Not just this."

Before Shannon could ask further, a whistle shot through the air. She turned abruptly just in time to witness the night sky erupt with dazzling fireworks.

Hector met Adam's approving glance with a smile. Then, he shook his head slightly. The fireworks show wasn't his doing.

These were the most beautiful fireworks she'd ever seen. His gift was truly breathtaking.

Benjamin looked at the smile lighting up her face and said nothing. But a faint smile slowly appeared on his lips.

Far above the city hidden beyond the layers of dark clothes, a dragon's massive silhouette moved through the sky.

The dragon hid itself and glided rapidly through the night as it absorbed the smoke left behind by the fireworks.

Once its belly was half-filled with the smoke, the dragon exhaled deeply. "This is not what a dragon should be doing…"
