Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn) novel Chapter 248

"Well now," Mills teased, a twinkle in his eye, "you look as proud as a parent whose kid just aced their exams."

Joshua's face softened. "Well, she is like family."

Mills shrugged casually, "I wonder what those two are laughing about over there."

As soon as he said it, Joshua's warmth faded. Handing his cue to the caddy, he headed towards the group.

"Hey, where are you off to?" Mills asked, tagging along.

Joshua's tone turned cool, lacking any warmth. "Going to talk business."

"Business?" Mills was confused. "With who?"

Taking a quick glance at the trio sharing a laugh, Mills caught on fast. Jealousy was rearing its head; Joshua wasn't about to let those guys keep hanging around Allison.

Someone was clearly reaching their limit.

Mills chuckled, knowing Joshua couldn't hold back any longer.

Joshua stopped in front of Allison, casting a shadow in the sun.

Allison looked up from within that shadow. He was in his signature cool, dark gray athletic wear.

What’s he up to now? Allison wondered.

Sensing the moment, Pierce spoke up, "Mr. Fisher, Eric, you go ahead. Allison and I will head out. Eric, we can go over the contract details another day."

Allison had been lost in thought, staring at Joshua's shadow. Pierce’s words snapped her back, and she was ready to go with Pierce.

Eric replied, "Sure. I’ll meet you tomorrow afternoon to discuss the contract. Since I lost to Ms. Allison earlier, I’m sticking to my word. I pride myself on that."

Eric had said this to make a good impression on Joshua, hoping to secure a deal with Fisher Corporation's hotel brand.

However, Joshua wasn’t concerned about any of that. His only worry was that Allison was leaving.

Joshua's voice was smooth, almost casual. "Since you’re all here, why don’t you join us for lunch?"
