Eric figured this young woman might know her way around a golf course, but he assumed, like most girls, she wouldn't have the strength to make it to the green in just a few shots. Maybe eight or nine strokes, he thought. Losing a bit of cash for a smile from a lovely lady seemed like a fair trade.
Allison gave a playful smile, "I'll join you for dinner, but betting money is a bit boring. Let's make it more interesting."
"What do you have in mind, Ms. Allison?"
"If I can get the ball on the green in ten strokes, you'll sign a one-year legal advisory contract with our firm. For every stroke less, add another year. And if I do it in one, you'll sign a ten-year contract, covering all your company's legal cases with us. Deal?"
Eric chuckled, realizing she was sharper than he gave her credit for. She wasn’t eyeing a small prize; she was aiming for a big win.
Infinique Ventures was a huge company, and just one year's worth of cases could keep their firm busy for quite some time.
He had underestimated her.
Turning to Pierce, Eric joked, “Where did you find Ms. Allison? She’s so committed and always has your firm’s best interests at heart. I’m tempted to bring her onto my legal team.”
Pierce laughed, "Oh, Eric, you're too kind."
Finding the whole thing amusing, Eric agreed with a grin, “Alright, Ms. Allison. If a contract is what you want, then a contract it is. Whatever makes you happy.”
Allison's face lit up with a bright smile, "Perfect."
The caddie handed her a club, and she gave it a quick swing.
Allison responded with a modest smile, “Thank you, Eric.”
Pierce was grinning from ear to ear. Securing a ten-year contract was no small achievement!
He had initially brought Allison along just to keep Eric entertained before getting into the contract talks, but she had cinched a decade-long deal with Infinique Ventures in one swift move!
In all his years, he had never sealed such a big deal in one go. Pierce felt a bit outdone.
Nearby, Mills nudged Joshua with his elbow, gesturing towards the action, “Your ex-girlfriend’s got some serious skills, making it to the green in one stroke. Her form is just as good as the pros.”
Joshua turned to look, a fond smile on his face, pride evident in his eyes, “Allie won the national youth championship back in high school.”
