Girl Get Rid Of That Jerk (Williams and Shawn) novel Chapter 196

Joshua had some stuff to handle, so he took off after a bit.

Meanwhile, Allison and Joy headed over to Peyton's room to give her a fabulous makeover. Peyton beamed at her reflection. “Allison, Joy, I’ve never seen myself look this pretty before!”

Allison gave her a gentle pat on the head. “Go find your brother now.”

“Okay!” she nodded excitedly.

Back at Allison's place, Joshua got a call from Mills. They’d managed to snag the project in South America that Chris was after, leaving Chris in a real bind. Mills warned Joshua to watch his back because Chris would soon find out Joshua was behind it all. Even though Chris was in South America, he still had people working for him in the States.

After hanging up, Joshua turned to Allison with a serious look. “Allie, there’s something I need to tell you.”

Noticing his tone, Allison sat up straight. “What’s going on?”

“As you know, my dad has another son, Chris. My grandparents keep him out of the Fisher family, so he had a rough time in South America. He ended up being taken in by a powerful crime boss there. Over time, he's built his own empire and even has a private army.”

Allison gasped, “Does that mean you’re in danger? Joshua, be extra careful!”

Joshua paused, feeling a wave of warmth. He pulled her close. “Allie, it’s not me I’m worried about, it’s you. You mean the world to me, and I’m scared he might go after you to get to me.”

“Go after me?”

“Yeah, it might be tough to take me on directly, but you’re my weak spot. If he targets you, I’m afraid...”

“So thoughtful.”

Joshua had ordered from a fancy five-star restaurant nearby, known for its unique dishes. Spotting the restaurant’s logo on the bag, Allison looked at Joshua, intrigued. “Don’t they only accept dining in?”

Joshua chuckled, setting the table. “If you want it, they’ll make an exception.”

Allison eyed him suspiciously for a second, then it clicked—it was no delivery for regular folks, but Joshua wasn’t just anyone. She sat at the table, fork in hand, and eyes shining.

She was genuinely starving, having missed both breakfast and lunch. The table was laden with a feast. The beautifully presented dishes, bursting with flavor, were all of Allison’s favorites. This place was known for its high prices and small servings, but the flavors were out of this world.
