Chris was Ben’s secret son.
Joshua's eyes were as dark as a moonless night. "He's got quite the reach, even from another country."
Nearby, Thomas stood, visibly tense, barely daring to breathe.
Joshua's voice was icy. "Since he's making his move, there's no need for me to hold back. I heard he's just snagged a major project overseas?"
Thomas nodded. "Yes, just recently. Over the years, Chris has expanded his influence to several neighboring countries. He’s set up his own bases..."
Joshua's lips curled into a smirk. "Let's send him a little 'welcome' gift. Make sure that the project of his doesn't go forward."
Thomas responded promptly, "Understood."
"And was it Chris' crew who took out Sue?" Joshua asked.
"Yes," Thomas replied, his face serious. "It seems Sue was no longer useful to him, so he tied up loose ends."
Joshua's eyes narrowed, a sharp chill emanating from them. "Classic Chris."
He was used to blatantly disregarding the law, leaving a trail of bodies, and being utterly ruthless.
Joshua's expression hardened. "Since he's so idle, let's give him some work. Get in touch with Mills over there to help us deal with Chris. We can't let him keep that project."
"Yes, sir!"
...
At Chris' private villa, t
he phone on the nightstand rang incessantly.
After automatically hanging up, it started ringing again, like a never-ending curse.
"Chris... your phone's been going off for ages... aren't you going to pick it up?" a girl asked, slightly out of breath.

The girl lay beside him, her delicate fingers tracing patterns on his tanned chest.
"Chris, who just called you just now? I thought you'd ignore everyone else while I’m here. But you still called back."
The girl, feeling bold after pleasing Chris, dared to pout and act a bit jealous.
Chris took a drag from his cigarette, exhaling with satisfaction.
Through the swirling smoke, his eyes were partially obscured.
Chris smirked, lifting the girl’s chin. He looked into her eyes with his mesmerizing gaze. his smile captivating.
"Which girl could ever satisfy me like you do? She's just a pawn. She's still useful for now, so I'll keep her around. But once she's no longer needed, she'll be worth less than your dog, Bebe."
The woman's name was Yara, one of Chris' many lovers.
Bebe was her pet dog, a fluffy white Samoyed.
Yara heard Chris' explanation and her lips curved into a smile. A sweetness bloomed in her heart.
