From Rougue To Luna novel Chapter 58

Heavy footsteps sounded outside the door before it was pushed open and Cage stepped in. My breath hitched as his eyes cut to mine, boring into my gaze as if he was trying to possess every ounce of my being.

"Glad to see you're awake." He said smoothly as he walked over to the closet, reaching in and grabbing a white tee and slipping it over his head.

"H-how long have I been out?" I asked hoarsely.

He stepped to the side of the bed and looked down his sharp nose at me as he frowned. "You slept through the whole night and the rest of today."

My eyes widened as my mind began to finally catch up to my body. They'd postponed the attack. But did they know where I was?

"What did you do to Ivy? Did you...kill her?" The last words caught in my throat as tears welled in my eyes. I shoved them away and pushed my chin up further to glare at him.

He chuckled darkly and sank down to sit on the edge of the bed as he leaned forward, smirking deviously. "So that was her name then? A bit on the nose isn't it? With her tattoo?" He said as his eyebrows rose and his finger pointed to the side of his head.

I shook my head and matched his movement, leaning forward to glare harder. "What did you do?" I gritted out.

He sighed and looked away, his expression bored as he shrugged. "Nothing. Just knocked her out and sedated her so she couldn't tell the others. She'll be fine." He seemed so careless. So casual. Like it was completely normal to drug two she wolves and kidnap one. "Had I killed her, they'd have gone to Alpha and I couldn't have that. Murder on another pack's lands is something I could be condemned for, but taking back the mate I've lost? That I can do."

"Why?" I asked finally, after staring in silence at my hands in front of me. "Why did you take me after so long?"

I laughed and tried to pull away but his fingers dug painfully into my chin. "Did you honestly think he'd keep something like that from me? She's my child Cage."

He scoffed and shoved me back slightly as he stood from the bed, his hands clenched at his sides. "Your child? She's never known you. She's mine. Do you understand? She thinks her mother abandoned her. Because she did." He snarled.

My eyes widened and I sat forward, pulling against my chains. "I would never have left had I known she'd made it. You told me she died. You lied! Why? Why would you do that?"

He threw his hands in the air dismissively. "The healer told me you'd die. And possibly that the baby wouldn't make it through the night. Unfortunately for you, you ran too soon to find out." His words were like slivers of ice, cutting into me and flaying me open. I could have stopped this. I could have saved her from this life.

"If I'd have stayed I would have died. I almost did anyway." I said quietly, the vision of Huntleigh coming to me at the hospital still haunting me. My gaze snapped up to his and I couldn't stop the words from tumbling out my mouth. "Bring her to me. I have to see her. Cage please, I'll do anything. Just let me see her please."
