Fiona didn't bother responding to her words; she just stood there quietly, a slight smile playing on her lips.
The more Fiona acted this way, the more Amy's fear and anxiety skyrocketed. It was like Fiona had somehow taken control of her mind, driving her to point at Fiona in a frenzy.
"How on earth do you know? How could you possibly know?"
It wasn’t long before Amy's phone rang. She ranted into it, and the person on the other end seemed in no hurry to hang up, which caught Fiona's eye.
What intrigued Fiona even more was how quickly Amy calmed down, soothed by whoever was on the line, as if the anger she'd just shown had never even happened. Fiona couldn't help but wonder who wielded such influence over her.
Jane was curious too, though her curiosity was a bit different. She marveled at how Fiona could stay so cool after learning such things.
If it had been her, she’d be a wreck!
"Even if you know, what can you really do about it? The Gregory family needs me," Amy scoffed, lifting her chin with a haughty demeanor. She shot Fiona a frosty look and said, “Fiona, you were born just to die! Why do you get all this protection and expectation just because of your birth, while others are left to flounder in the mud? If you hadn’t landed in the right family, who would even know your name?”
Fiona didn’t feel like saying a word. She just let out a cold snort, leaving it at that.
They saw the world differently, and their power dynamics were worlds apart. There was no point in getting into a pointless argument. Honestly, she was just curious to see how Amy would react, and boy, was it explosive.
