SAAFIA’S POV:-
Hugging my knees close to my chest, I was silently sobbing. My chest felt heavy when they took my Dariel like this. Refusing to listen to anyone, I was in the room with Sarah and Helder to console me.
“Why are you crying? You are acting as if they placed a wrong allegation. We all know he did this to them.” Sarah sighed, frowning at my constant weeping.
Glaring at her, puffing I looked away angrily, not talking to her too. She couldn’t understand.
“But, don’t say this so harshly, Ms. Blooms. She is already tense.” At least Helder defended me, offering me a glass of water.
Wiping my tears, I drank some water to calm my senses, “Dariel…”
But, I needed him with me.
Frowning, My grip on the glass and I didn’t know what happened to me. Knowing that Dariel was at fault, he did this to them, yet I spoke-
“What happened to them is their fault. He did the right thing.”
“Seriously, Saafia? You are defending him?” Sarah gasped, not believing when I, who always forgave everyone, was now defending my husband for hurting someone.
I couldn’t help it, I found myself weak in his matter.
“He is my husband, of course, I will defend my man!” I whisper-yelled, slamming the glass on the side table while glaring at her.
“What is wrong with you? He did the wrong thing!”
“Sam also did wrong things! He should be treated like this!” I argued, refusing to accept that Dariel was in the wrong.
Sighing at my bickering with Sarah, Helder came in between, clapping his hands to stop us from fighting.
“Okay, okay, relax. I have asked Ian. He said not to be vexed. Dariel will be home soon.” He enunciated, bringing a glow on my face instantly.
“Can I see him, Helder? Please?” I asked hopelessly, getting out of the bed immediately.
“I, uh, I don’t know, Saafia.” He chuckled nervously, unsure.
“Please.” I insisted, making Sarah scoff.
“Okay,”
“I also want to see Jared.” I added which Sarah declined quickly, “You are not going to do that. Seeing him will only bring trouble.” She hissed.
“I want to ask him why he did this.” I enunciated.
“And Sam?”
“That man is garbage, I expected no less from him. Dariel is doing right by teaching a lesson.” I scoffed, not wanting to see his face. Not only did he try to harass me, he even tried to destroy my marriage.
“Wow, the forgiving Saafia is doing this?” Sarah asked in disbelief to which I replied sincerely.
“I don’t care about anything when it comes to Dariel.”
“I am moved by your love for him, Saafia. Where do you want to go, tell me, I will take you there.” Helder said with a charming smile, supporting me that made me smile too.
“To Jared. I don’t know where he is working right now after Dariel threw him out of his corporation.” I sighed.
“Well, that’s what he gets for stealing his woman- I am sorry, I didn’t mean it in a bad way.” He was about to taunt but realized his words and stopped apologetically.
I chuckled nervously, “No, no, it’s alright. I had zero regards towards Veronica.”
“I will check and let you know.”
“Thanks, Helder, for everything.” I spoke sincerely, he was truly helping me a lot, he called Sarah, stood here and defended me and now taking me to Jared too.
“What thanks? You are my brother’s wife.” He laughed sweetly and left.
He was no doubt a good man.
Complying with his words, he took me to meet Jared. It was his lunch time and I came to meet him. We were alone in the corridor as he held a perplexed look on his face.
“Jared.”
“What are you doing here?”
“What the hell do you want? I thought we cleared our hearts and you are going to your life and we to ours.” I hissed, glaring at him.
He shrugged his shoulders, “Yes, we did. So?”
“Then why the hell did you initiate an arrest warrant against Dariel?!” I whisper-yelled, curling my hand in a fist, losing my mind in rage when he did this to Dariel.
“What?! What are you talking about? I didn’t do it.”
“Hey,” Dariel waved his hand at me.
My jaw dropped, scanning the place, not sure what to consider it, “When did prisons become this… good?” I asked vaguely, contemplating the room with proper furniture and a bathroom.
“I am an aristocrat, darling. That too with an unofficial warrant.” He smirked, folding his arms at his chest proudly while there was nothing to be proud about.
“My one call to the higher ups and they will arrange a first class cell for me for a day or two.”
“How come you are so sure?” I questioned, tilting my head in confusion.
“Let’s just say I am not the best or the most honest man. Been there, done that. Many times. I know how to get away.” He smirked darkly, shrugging his shoulders, having no signs of concern on his features.
“You seriously were heartless, weren’t you?”
“You called me that so I must be that. I trust your words more than mine.” He smirked, pinching my cheek as I couldn’t believe I was sobbing for him while he was utterly chill about this ordeal.
“Do you have any idea how worried I am?” I hissed, grabbing his wrist.
“I know, my love, and I am telling you I will be home soon. You don’t have to be worried for me.” He hummed, closing the gap slowly.
“I need you home.” I demanded to which he smirked mischievously, wrapping his hand around my waist.
“Why? Do you want to comply with my words of making your throat hurt?” He asked seductively.
I couldn’t believe right now he was in a mellow mood while I was worried-sick!
Gasping, I pulled us apart, jaw dropping at his nonchalance, “Are you really kidding right now?”
“I am in a good mood so…”
“Dariel, what is wrong with you?”
“Love, it means nothing. It happens. Relax. You are acting as if I didn’t do it.” He chuckled, winking in the end but at my glare he put his hand in the air defensively.
“Okay, okay. Come here.”
Giving me a side hug as he kissed the top of my head, making me forget all of my worries and place faith in him only.
“Don’t be perturbed about me, my love, I will be home before you know it.”
