DARIEL’S POV:-
I held a grimace on my face while she was talking at the dinner table with Helder who was also laughing with her and the sound of it was pricking me.
Exhaling to hide my frustration, I leaned back on my seat and placed my hand over her shoulder, keeping her close to me at least while having no idea what was so funny about it-
Maybe because I was more focused on her than their talks.
“I didn’t know he was so funny.” She chuckled, placing her hand over mine.
“Hmm.”
The urge to make her laugh like he did evoke in me. I didn’t make her laugh like this and it pricked me. Narrowing my eyes, I kept my eyes locked on her.
“What happened? Why are you silent?” Helder asked, breaking my rhythm.
Blinking, I regained my thoughts and forced out a smile, “Huh? Nothing.”
Upon seeing my reaction, Helder smirked, resting his elbow on the table while teasing me.
“Don’t worry, I will leave tomorrow. You guys can live your lives peacefully then, I know I must have troubled you guys a lot.”
He chuckled, pointing his fork adorably at Saafia and me which was not necessary at all.
Saafia chuckled, waving her hand, “No, no, it’s nothing like this. You are welcome here.”
“Yeah…” I trailed off, going along with her as we fortunately finished our dinner and got to leave.
Helder waved his hand sweetly at us, “I should sleep now. Thanks for everything guys. Good night.”
Honestly, I was receiving bad omens about his actions. He had been charming but these constant smiles were questionable. Or maybe I was not used to being friendly with him.
Not thinking deeply about it, we went to our room. Saafia was on the bed, engrossed in her phone as I went through the drawers and found a gift box with a necklace and watch in it.
I hadn’t seen it before because anything Saafia bought, did or made, she always showed it to me.
Heck, even her pads too. What did she expect me to do with them?
“Did you buy something?” I asked, showing the box to her.
“Oh yeah, I forgot about it. Helder gave it to us as a wedding gift. I forgot about it. It was really beautiful though.” She grinned, getting out immediately and unwrapping them.
“Are you doing this on purpose?” I frowned, narrowing my eyes on her. Now, I was suspecting whether she was doing this on purpose or truly.
“Oh, no, I forgot about it totally.” She smiled, checking the watch by taking my wrist and forcing me to wear it.
“And your friendship with him?” I continued, leaning forward.
“Yes.” She giggled, pecking my cheek.
“Hey,”
“Wait, let me put this on.”
I was about to pinch her cheek but she stopped and put on the necklace first, “Ah, it suits me so well.”
Placing her hair on her shoulder, a heartwarming smile spread across her lips, checking herself out in the mirror.
With my hands in my pockets, I stood behind her, wrapping my hand around her waist so I could snuggle close to my delicate woman.
Clicking a picture of us in the mirror, I bit her earlobe, complimenting her sincerely, “Everything suits you so well.”
Leading my lips down to her neck, she blushed when my eyes contemplated her intensely while filling my desires of greeting her skin with mine.
“I know. Great, it's not heavy, I can wear it as everyday jewelry.” She mumbled, turning her head to the side to give me more access so I could sink my lips and earn a moan from her.
“Yeah, yeah,” I muttered after biting down her shoulder. Pressing her body harder against mine to show her how much I needed her and she was testing me.
“My, are you angry?” She smirked temptingly.
“What do you think?”
Arching an eyebrow, I hugged her firmly from behind, resting my chin on her shoulder while falling into a trail of thoughts. Lowering my gaze, I was still not sure about his friendliness.
Seeing me falling in a daze, Saafia snapped her fingers.
“What happened? Where are you lost?”
“Nothing. He had always been a strange one. I didn’t know what to say honestly, Saafia. I just pray he won’t turn out like his father.” I mumbled, clicking my head against hers.
“I am not afraid of you. My affair with you was a mistake. Helder is the result of my sins.” She declared heartlessly and walked away.
Evoking a fire in our hearts to show her a downfall no one could ever fathom.
Speaking words I could never eradicate from my mind.
Opening my eyes, I found myself back at Dariel’s place, staring at the ceiling from the painful memory. My jaw clenched but swallowing the rage, I chuckled dryly.
“Result of your sins, huh?”
As I was lying on the bed, I got a call from Sam who immaculately helped me in everything and they failed to gras.
“Hmm?”
“Sir, Jacey came to know everything.” He sighed.
I asked sternly as the time to execute my next step came, “And what did you do?”
“I have locked her in the room for now and cut off her connections with everyone.” He chuckled darkly.
“Good.”
“And what about Veronica? What should we do about her?” He asked as she was my least concern.
“Don’t worry about her. She is blind to me, a few fake words and she would do anything as I order. I have no need for her at the moment. You continue as I instructed only.” I suppressed a vile chuckle to imagine how devastated she would be after losing everything.
“Okay, Sir.”
After cutting the call, a direness induced in my chest. Rising from the bed, I slammed my hand at the dressing table, glaring at my reflection in the mirror as I growled.
“You will see how I will ruin the lives of the children you were dying for.”
A dark smirk crept on my lips, resenting this whole family for what they did to us and I would do anything to make them suffer.
Emitting a malevolent aura, I was determined about my actions as I enunciated the future of these siblings.
“I already got your little Jacey. Now it leaves your heart, your Dariel. They will pay for ‘your’ sins, Tilda.”
