Fleeing the Nightmarish Father novel Chapter 88

Sharing a few talks with Helder and mending our stumbling bonds, I returned to my room where Saafia was holding the bouquet close to her chest, she plucked a rose out and tugged it behind her ears.

When my eyes fell on her, my heart skipped a beat, indulging how angelic she was looking in the composure.

“What happened? Is everything alright? Why did you make me go inside?” She asked, rising from the bed quickly when I entered with slight worry.

“Yeah, everything is alright, vex not. He was asking to place everything behind.”

Exhaling, I loosened my tie and took a seat, running my fingers through my hair to wonder why he did this.

Or maybe he truly became good? I had no idea.

“So what did you say?”

“It felt strange, I didn’t expect him to mend bonds but I kept my beautiful wife in my mind and decided to follow what she must have.”

Returning a smile, I plucked a few rose petals and threw them at her with a grin. Everything related to her or about her urged me to follow that path.

She chuckled, coming before me and offering her hand, “Isn’t that for good?”

“I don’t know.” I sighed, taking her hand in mine because I personally wouldn’t trust him but for once, to know how it must feel.

“What happened, Dariel?”

“If it was before our marriage, I wouldn’t even see his face. I would have taught him a lesson for daring to cross his path with mine after what his Father did but,”

Curling my lips downwards, I took a pause as she sat beside me, giving my hand a firm squeeze.

“But?”

“But now I don’t want to. Apart from making Sam pay, I didn’t want to carry needless grudges. It feels so heavy, Saafia.”

Resting my head on her shoulder, I couldn’t explain but the flow of my life began to get entangled. I never thought I would return to that path again.

“And now that I have taken the first step to forgive someone, after a devilishly long time, I felt that crushing weight being lifted.”

Being with her made me want to become like her… again.

Arching an eyebrow temptingly, a smirk spread across her lips while I was serious. Poking my cheek, she giggled, teasing me.

“Oh? And here I thought you were going to change me, Mister Cannedy.”

“Hey. You have taken over my feelings, my mind, my words, my everything. What else do you expect from me, you witch?” I muttered, kissing her neck, refusing to release her.

She laughed a little, allowing me to remain with her for the time being.

“So, how does it feel?”

“Strange, honestly. I don’t know how to react but seriously, what have you done to me, woman?” I replied sincerely, getting up from the bed, taking off my coat.

“I have cast a spell on you.” She winked.

“Obviously.”

We both chuckled as she stared at me beautifully to blind me in her shadow and forget myself.

“May you guys be away from any evil eyes. Glad to see you two together,”

“We know.”

After dinner, we were in our room. Saafia was brushing her hair and spoke up, “He is not that bad. So sweet too.”

“Hmm. I think I made the right choice by forgiving. At least now I have someone from my Father’s side.” I chuckled, using my phone.

“Were they only two brothers?”

“Yeah, cut off from the rest of his family too plus Helder was his only child.” I told her calmly, he was the only possible relative left for me from his side.

I had no interest in bonding with distant ones though.

“I see. Honestly I am relieved to find you smiling and becoming forgiving.” She grinned, creeping next to me and placing her head on my chest.

“You did this to me, Lady.” I hummed, placing my phone down and wrapping my arms around my delicate woman.

“I am here and will always be.” She whispered, pecking my cheeks.

I winked, “I won’t even let you leave me.”

“Yes, yes.”

Sharing a mellow moment overflowing with our unstoppable love, we held each other close and went to sleep as I continued to pray in-depthly.

‘May no evil shadow follow us and our world exists of nothing but felicity.’
