Done with his selfish actions and intimidations, I decided to not see him at all so I kept my distance throughout the party.
“Goodbye. Take care.”
We bid our last guest, sighing in relief that this fake event, all his efforts to clear this ruthless image worked well and everyone believed that he changed.
Because of me.
“Bless you guys. Bye.”
The second we were alone in the main hall of his enormous mansion, we rolled our eyes, tired from his event.
“Tsk.”
Turning, I grabbed my dress and turned to leave but he grabbed my arm, sending a shiver down my spine, worrying me about what he wanted now.
“Now, where the fuck do you think you are going?”
His low, warning tone came and I was too tired to confront him at his point. Returning a glare, I tried to leave my hand.
“Leave me.”
“No.”
Not caring about his hard grip over me, he began to drag me with him to our room. I growled at him, how ‘affectionately’ he was acting and the second the party ended.
He came back to his usual ruthless self.
I winced at his tight grip. He ignored the sound and held a dominant expression, refusing to let me go until he pushed me inside our room and closed the door.
“What the hell is your problem? What do you want now?”
Rubbing my arm to ease the pain, I hissed at him. Not knowing what I did to enrage him in the first place.
Narrowing his eyes from anger, he took a large step, hovering his large body before me to stiff me.
“What is ‘your’ problem? What do ‘you’ want, woman?” He hissed back in a whisper.
I stopped for a moment, blinking in confusion, “Huh?”
Before I could register, he grabbed my dress from the front and pushed me forward, glaring at me with a raised voice.
“What the hell you were doing with your ex lover all alone!?”
I trembled, staring at him in disbelief. His yell frightened me. My heart began to pound, not used to his wrath.
“I did nothing. He came to me.” I whispered, slapping his hand away from my dress, trying my best to stay strong.
“Don’t lie. You must be dying to see him, you can’t resist that motherfucker you stole my woman, huh? He took my wife once, he couldn’t do it again, I won’t let it.” He growled, pointing his finger at me.
My jaw dropped, his remarks about my loyalty hurt me. I could be anything but a cheat.
“I won’t let him either. What is wrong with you? How could you place me and your ex-wife in the same perspective?”
“Fine, I will do it next time.” I mumbled, noticing how pissed he was becoming just because I was ignoring him.
“Oh, there ‘will’ be a next time.”
I smirked, “As if you will let any of us live in peace.”
“Hey- Where are you going?- Saafia-”
He came before me, not letting me go to the bathroom but I poked him with my index finger, removing him from my way. I was sleepy and had no intentions to argue with him tonight.
“Please, I am exhausted. I am done with you for today. Let me sleep and be away from you.”
“You think you can avoid me?” He smirked.
I glared, opening my mouth to make a remark but in the mood to start another argument, I slammed my hand on the bathroom door.
“Yes!”
He stopped instantly, forming his lips in a thin line and moving out of the way quietly as I went to the bathroom.
Thankfully his lava soothed when I yelled.
Hissing, I came out and roughly climbed under the covers. He didn’t dare to speak anymore. Not paying attention to him, I placed my hand over my ears, shutting my eyes and fell into a deep slumber.
He had truly tested my patience more than anyone did in my entire life. I couldn’t believe I could be this annoyed by someone but he made it possible.
