Chapter 66
She lets out a long breath, looks at the both of us and then nods. “Fine.”
I go and kneel before her and give her a soft kiss, holding her hands to try and give her some strength.
“I need to go and shower now. I’ve got work tonight.”
“Not tonight, Angel, and before you verbally bash me, because I know that’s coming. We just want you to get some rest. We don’t want you burning out. Tomorrow will be hard for you, just please, take tonight to rest.”
She goes to open her mouth, probably to hurl some shit at me to back down but the office door opens and before Tony walks in two purebred german shepherd puppies come running inside.
“OH MY GOD!!!”
She jumps off Luca and straight to the floor on her knees where the puppies come toppling over her like little balls of energy.
“You say you wanted puppies, Honey!” Tony puffs his chest out and gets his imaginary note pad out to tick that off the list.
“They’re so cute!!!!! she squeals out as she cuddles them and then her joy turns into tears and she’s crying hysterically as she sobs into their fur.
“Do you…not like them, Honey?”
“I love them, they’re perfect, thank you.”
The three of us look at each other quizzically. That’s an odd reaction…
“What are you going to name them, Princess?”
She picks up one of the pups, a pure black coat and looks him over intently.
“This one is Deimos, like the God of Terror.”
Then she picks up the female and does her check over her.
“She will be Keres.”
“The Goddess of Death.” I state, and she looks at me with a wicked smile.
“Exactly. My little Goddess of Death” and she nuzzles her face.
“Well aren’t they just adorable little demons!” Luca says laughing as Deimos licks his face.
“What do you want for dinner, Angel?” I ask as she comes out from her shower.
“Uh…ew?” She smacks my shoulder and gives me a stern look.
I wander downstairs and catch Tony and Luca bringing in the dogs from the yard.
“Look at you too being all domesticated and shit.”
“Oh fuck off” Tony shoots at me.
“What’s for dinner?” Luca asks looking in the fridge.
“Pizza, but Ariana wants mac and cheese on hers.”
