Chapter 269
Sonia cut Ana off. “Who’s the professional here, you or me? I’ve done countless product shoots, and this is the first time I’ve heard such ridiculou
nonsense.”
Ana replied calmly. won’t look good.”
“Whether it works or not isn’t up to you to decide. I think it looks perfect as is.” Sonia said coldly.
Aurora had just stepped away to take a call and returned to find Sonia and Ana in a tense standoff.
“What’s going on?” she asked.
Before Ana could speak, Sonia jumped in to complain first.
“Aurora, I’m the professional here, but Anastasia is trying to micromanage everything…”
She recounted Ana’s suggestions to Aurora.
Expecting Aurora to take her side, Sonia was shocked when Aurora stared at her for several seconds before saying coldly, “Redo your makeup. Who told you to get clever?”
Sonia’s smile froze. She looked at Aurora in disbelief, unable to trust her own ears.
“Aurora, you want me to redo my makeup?” Sonia asked incredulously.
“Sonia, where’s your professionalism? Did you leave it at home today? Or are you deliberately being difficult?” Aurora said sharply. “You know exactly what we’re shooting today, yet you chose such heavy makeup. Who are you trying to impress? If the ad campaign flops, will you take responsibility? You’ve already wasted everyone’s time, and now you’re pulling this stunt?”
Aurora’s criticism was scathing. Sonia bit her lip, her eyes reddening with unshed tears that she didn’t dare let fall.
“What are you waiting for? Get moving,” Aurora commanded.
Sonia wanted to lash out but didn’t dare cross Aurora. She could only grit her teeth and comply.
After the makeup was finally redone, Aurora said with satisfaction, “Much better now.”
She paused and looked at Ana. “Ana, what do you think?”
“It’s acceptable,” Ana replied.
While Sonia’s overall aesthetic still didn’t quite match Rhodes Global’s jewelry style, it was workable.
As the shoot began, Sonia found herself distracted by Cassian and Ana.
While everyone’s attention was focused on her, Cassian was secretly reaching behind his back to hold Ana’s hand.
Ana stiffened for a moment, then relaxed and accepted his touch. The two held hands secretly like middle school sweethearts sneaking romance.
Sonia was seething with rage, wanting to charge over and tear them apart.
Just then, the photographer finally exploded “Ms. Vinci, could you please focus during the shoot?”
Sonia snapped back to attention, frowning with irritation. “The poses you’re asking for are so difficult. Can’t I practice a bit?”
“Practice is fine, but you need to pay attention. You’re not even listening to my instructions–how can you execute them?”
The photographer Rhodes Global had hired owned his own studio and had worked with A–list celebrities, who all treated him with respect, calling him

But Sonia lacked the clout to match her attitude.
Her looks were mediocre even by entertainment industry standards, where beautiful people were everywhere.
Her only selling point was supposed to be her artistic temperament, but today’s styling was too heavy. Even after the makeup change, it wasn’t completely fixed, so the results remained unsatisfactory.
It might have been passable under normal circumstances.
But Sonia’s lack of cooperation during the shoot was infuriating.
“If this is your attitude, I don’t think we need to continue,” the photographer said coldly.
Sonia played the victim, her eyes reddening. “What did I do wrong? I’m just tired today and haven’t found my groove yet. Once I get into the zone, it’
be fine.”
“And when will that be?” the photographer asked impatiently.
Sonia blamed Ana for everything, internally cursing her, “p
now,” she said.
Seeing that Sonia was finally trying to adjust her attitude, the photographer said nothing more.
But the results were still disappointing–usable, but far from his standards.
He finally spoke up: “Stop, stop, stop! Did your company only prepare one model? Don’t you have anyone else?”
Aurora was furious. She pulled Sonia aside. “What’s wrong wee
you? This opportunity is being handed to you on a silver platter, and you don’t know how to appreciate it? Do you know how hard this photographer is to book? If it weren’t for Rhodes Global’s connections, he never would have agreed to shoot with you.”
“Can’t you try harder?”
Sonia felt wronged too. “I am trying hard! He’s just nitpicking. I’ve done every pose he asked for seriously.”
Aurora was exasperated. “I don’t think you’re cut out for this business.”
While Sonia was being lectured, the bored photographer started looking around.
