Aurora went to make her phone call and didn’t notice Cassian and Theo walking their way.

Ana saw Cassian and Theo approaching and instinctively wanted to wave at Cassian.

But remembering they were at the office, she held back.

Theo elbowed Cassian. “Dude, I heard your own wife thinks you’re embarrassing and won’t let you go public with your relationship. When I first heard that, I thought, ‘This is Cassian Rhodes we’re talking about–no way that’s possible!”

Theo’s trailing off was really annoying.

Cassian snorted. “Shut up.”

“My wife keeps things professional at the office, but at home, she’s a loving, caring wife. Unlike some people who are all alone and miserable.”

Theo looked at Cassian with mock hurt. “Are you even human? Saying stuff like that just to rub it in!”

“At least I’m not a dog,” Cassian replied.

He hadn’t read all the group chat messages from the other day, just caught the tail end where Theo had called Yinsen a dog.

Theo snorted. “Look at you, all high and mighty now. Don’t need me anymore, so I should just leave?”

Cassian raised an eyebrow. “Threatening me won’t work. You’re not going anywhere.”

“You’re that confident?” Theo said through gritted teeth, looking like he wanted to tear Cassian apart.

“I have that much confidence, at least.”

Cassian walked over to Ana and greeted her naturally. “Good morning, Designer Anastasia. How are the preparations coming along?”

Ana blinked. Was this her passionate husband? She was having trouble adjusting to this professional version.

Snapping back to reality, Ana replied, “Mr. Rhodes, we can’t find our spokesperson.”

Cassian paused, suddenly remembering that he and Theo had completely forgotten about Sonia.

“Well…”

Just then, Aurora walked over. “I called them. They’ll be here any minute.”

Aurora winked at Cassian, signaling him not to say anything that might upset Ana.

But Cassian said to Ana, “Earlier, Sonia and Aurora came to my office to see me while I was in a meeting with Theo. Sonia said she was tired and fell asleep on my office couch. I forgot about it after I finished my work and came down to find you.”

“Oh,” Ana said with a neutral expression, apparently not upset.

Aurora looked at Ana curiously. Why wasn’t she angry about hearing that her husband had been alone with another woman?

As if reading Aurora’s mind, Ana said, “Because Cassian gives me confidence. I trust him.”
