Chapter 263
“Ana, come here for a second.”
Why did you sleep here?”
Her grandmother pulled Ana onto the balcony before asking quietly, “What’s going on? W
“Grandma, Cassian says he really enjoys staying with you. If you don’t want to come live at our place, then we’ll move in here. As long as we can be near you.”
Her grandmother: “…”
Young people and their creative solutions.
“I’m perfectly fine living on my own,” she said.
Ana took her grandmother’s hands. “Grandma, if you’d said that to me ten years ago, I wouldn’t have worried. But now you’re getting older and need someone to look after you.”
“If I keep leaving you here alone, people will think I’m a terrible granddaughter.”
Her grandmother couldn’t care less about other people’s opinions. “What do other people’s thoughts have to do with you? I know you’re a good granddaughter–that’s all that matters. People can say whatever they want.”
“You’re right, I don’t have to care what others say. But I don’t want to keep missing it every time something happens to you. I don’t want to always be the last to know, hearing about it from someone else.” Ana’s eyes welled up as the emotions hit her. “Grandma, please let Cassian and me take care of you. If you don’t want to move, then we’ll move here.”
“Well…”
Her grandmother looked at Ana uncertainly, neither agreeing nor refusing.
Ana breathed a quiet sigh of relief. If her grandmother wasn’t saying no, that was progress.
“Grandma, Ana, breakfast is ready,” Cassian called.
After breakfast, Cassian and Ana left for work.
Ana had the strange feeling that someone was watching her from the shadows, but when she turned to look around, she couldn’t see anyone.
Was it just her imagination?
“What’s wrong?” Cassian asked.
Ana shook her head, thinking it was probably nothing. “It’s fine. Let’s go.”
On the way to work, Ana happily shared her grandmother’s reaction with Cassian.
“You really know what you’re doing,” Ana said with a smile.
Cassian looked at her profile, her face practically glowing with happiness.
He could tell Ana was genuinely happy, and he squeezed her hand, quietly sharing in her joy.
When they got close to the office, Ana got out of the car.
Not far away, Sonia and Jenny watched the whole thing clearly.
Sonia clenched her fists so tightly she nearly drew blood.
That bitch. Who’s she putting on this show for?

Chapter 03
Jenny tried to comfort Sonia. “Sonia, don’t you see what’s really happening here?”
Sonia was too consumed with anger to think clearly. She looked at Jenny suspiciously. “See what?”
“Why do you think Ana got out of the car several blocks away from the office? It’s because she can’t be seen! That proves Mr. Rhodes doesn’t really value her–he doesn’t want her identity exposed.”
Sonia paused, then a satisfied smile crept across her face.
She looked at Jenny gratefully, glad for the reminder–she hadn’t thought of that angle.
